That's a tough question, since the artwork is an integral part of the story-telling in manga.

For me, the answer would be no. I like Kishi's art style - it's part of what attracted me to the characters and the story.

I cant imagine it Since its a shounen manga. Have you ever noticed why shounen mangas dont have the "light novel versions".? Because most stories are action packed. Like for example in Naruto with all those ninja techniques,? it could be a bloody thing to imagine.

If it were less cheesy and didn't have a rushed ending then definitely. Kishi portrayed the theme of light and dark better than overrated Star Wars

I think it starting from the regular naruto series would even still be interesting. The beginning is mostly descriptions of ninja and chakra networks and what not. The action is subtle, and just enough.

Me personally, reading Lee vs gaara and the rest of the chunnin exams would still peak my attention if solely in normal text.
