Hello all. I'm looking for a new series to start once I finish Liar Game. The criteria is as follows:
Must be a series where characters use wit and intelligence to achieve their goals.
Has to be serious (I already have my One Pieces and my Nanatsu no Taizais to cheer me up).
That's it really.

Hmm, those are the big ones, so I can't think of many others. Fate/Stay Night and Fate/Zero involve a large free-for-all between magic users and their powerful servants (I know Zero has lots of strategy in how the players deal with each other, but I'm not sure about Stay Night). Eden of the East is also a tournament-esque game between 12 people where they gotta figure out how to "save Japan" with 10 billion yen, but aren't told what that means. Might be up your alley.

Texhnolyze (cyberpunk!!)(about an underground city it's power struggles and Ichise who gets new texhnolyzed limbs!! )

Zankyo no Terror(mystery, thriller)(dystopian tokyo and 2 seeming terrorist unveiling a huge govt cover up.)

Ergo Proxy.( science fiction)(Re-L investigating some murders by AutoReivs+ a life form called as proxy.)

Legend of the Galactic Heroes(space opera)(galactic power struggle one of my favs.)

These are all Psychological+thriller+mysteries based on your examples.

Yeah manga was much better but it's okay to marathon through only 26 epi iirc.

One Outs is by the creator of Liar Game - it's sports but just read a few chapters and I think you'll like it. Only problem is that there's a stretch of chapters not translated... at least when I was reading it.
