Strongest Senju are proficient in Earth, Water and Wind because those are the elements associated with the forrest (they're known as Senju of the forrest). Uchiha are proficient with Fire because they represent destruction.

Technically Neji is an Uchiha because they share a lineage as well. BZ's the same guy that called Amaterasu the strongest ninjutsu and Itachi invincible, don't take his words too literally.
