- What is Lightning? And explain the Lightning Release element.
Lightning is one of the five elemental types of ninjutsu in the Narutoverse. It is very focused on offense and is especially interesting because of it's cutting abilities like wind, burning abilities like fire, and speed. It can also paralyze opponents which is very important to note. Some of the most famous lightning release techniques in the Narutoverse are Chidori and it's varients (Raikiri, Chidori Senbon, Chidori Nagashi, Kirin), and Raikage armor. Lightning is known to be used in all ranges.

- What is lightning Release strong against?
Lightning release is strong against earth release. Lightning can break through the earth quite easily and make it crumble. Lightning can move throughout the earth with little trouble.

- What is lightning Release weak against?
Lightning release is weak against wind release because it insulates it.

- Analyze and explain the technique to me in a detailed explanation.
- Explain yourself performing the technique in a well detailed description. Necessary hand seals, nature and shape manipulation should be included as well.
- How can one defend against the technique or otherwise counter it.
- Tell me whether or not you find the technique useful or interesting and why.

Just a small bolt right? Rentaro looks over to see the annoying lizard which Zaph had pointed out, and it began to talk about Geiko and shiz.
Zaph u racist, that's a gecko... Ahem, anywho...FUS RO DAH!!
Yelled this as he gathered and then expelled raiton chakra from his mouth, shocking the gecko.

Rentaro next looked over to the group of Takigakure ninja who were pissin about having a beach party dancing to the electric slide very stylishly (lol village friendly pick to not get anyone mad xD ). Rentaro proceeded to dance along for a few moments before he gathered raiton chakra in his hands and placed them on the earth, giving them all a nice little shock. The ninja all jumped upwards and rubbed their feet as they all blamed and beat up on one really hairy guy, claiming that he static shocked them.

Rentaro walked over to one of the guys beating up on the hairy dude and outstretched his arm for a handshake. Rentaro channeled raiton chakra all throughout his hand and gripped the guys hand once he outstretched it. It gave the guy another shock, and Rentaro proceeded to slap the rest of them with his hand, shocking them more.

Ok this technique takes 3 hand seals and releases an intelligent wave of unfocused lightning from your hand. I say intelligent because it can avoid obstacles, reach long distances, and attack multiple opponents at the same time. Its the future of shinobi, smart lightning. Perform it on those training dummies, while avoiding the living people in front of them.

Edward formed the Tiger → Snake → Dog handseals while focusing raiton chakra into his right hand, then expelled it in the form of three lightning bolts. The lightning bolts arced around and dodged the random people who were passing bye, and pierced thru the faces of each of the dummies.

Edward next looked over at the shinobi who were surfing on some waves while that specific beach was closed. As if it weren't bad enough already, Ed heard a conversation between two of them as they shouted back and forth over the waves,
"Man, it's too bad this wave is so small."
"Yeah, I wish we could have stayed for a longer period of time, I hate having to surf for such a short length of time."

WHAT DID YOU SAY?!?!?! Did you just call me some run-of-the-mill-short-pea-sized-runt!??!?!?! I'LL SHOW YOU!!
With that, Ed slammed his hands onto the ground, sending a wave of electricity towards them and the wave. As soon as the wave of electricity came in contact with the ocean, the surfers were zapped harshly until they were able to reach the beach.

Ed turned towards Zaph as he began to speak like an announcer or some sort of guy who would talk in the background of a commercial advertising some medicine. Zaph then wove 2 handseals and placed his hand on the ground. The earth beneath Ed began to spiral inwards and downwards on itself. With no time to waste, Ed gathered and releases a charge of electricity all over his body, creating an armor almost which cancelled out the doton technique.

Ok this technique not only has 3 hand seals but a special hand seal too, the upside down Tiger seal, can you dig it? Then, by focusing your Raiton chakra you'll use it to dislodge stones and rubble from a cliff or earthen formation similar, now this technique is very contextual man, it needs specific conditions to be not only performed but effective. Ok now those hippies are having a peace campfire at that cave mouth, let them know how cruel caves can be.

Ok this technique focuses Raiton over your hand like a coating, it will then allow tendrils of lightning to dance around your arm in an epic manner. After which you'll have these tendrils shoot forward and shaped into horns to attack multiple enemies.

This one is as epic as Raiton/Kenjutsu gets. It focuses Raiton through the sword, not only increasing its cutting capabilities but it will then levitate before you then multiply creating two exact copies made of lightning. But wait! There's more! You as the user can then control them to attack or defend through mere hand movements. That's hella cool if you ask me. You have to focus while doing this though and you can't perform anything else.


( Raiton: Inazuma ken Fudou ) - Lightning Release: Lightning Blades Levitation

While controlling the weapons, the user cannot mold chakra for other techniques and needs to keep focus.

Ok not gonna lie, this is just a stronger version of (Raiton: Raikou Oonami) - Lightning Release: Lightning Surge, so perform it as such but add a little more spunk (chakra) to the technique.


( Raiton: Denki Railanshō ) - Lightning Release: Electric Discharge Palm

Can you dig this!?
Edward wove the Snake → Upside down Tiger handseals and then clapped his hands together. He released a charge of raiton chakra towards a series of rocks at the roof of a cave near him. A couple of poor guys were sitting down by it, who suddenly felt a small shake and heard a low rumble. They looked around curiously for a moment before the rocks came loose above them and put out their poor campfire (and also crushed them, turning them all into Obito-in-trainings).

Suddenly the camper's friends appeared from a puff of smoke around Edward, introducing themselves as famous ninjas who were known for their hand to hand combat.
Wait you said your names were Fodder 1 through 4? Those are kinda weird names.
With that, Ed raised his arm while focusing raiton chakra into it. He released it from his arm which created four tendrils which had horns at the ends of them. They each sped towards one of the fodders, shocking them as they made contact.

There's more!? But how!?

Ed reached for his katana and unsheathed it, focusing raiton chakra into it as he did so. He released it from his grip and it stayed in the air, floating. By releasing some of the raiton chakra in the swords, two copies grew out of it and spaced themselves out a few feet. Ed made a slash with his arm, and it sent the swords at some fodder ninja who got triple teamed.

Ed gathered raiton charka in his hand like he did for Raiton: Raikou Oonami, but this time invested more chakra into it. He looked around to see if any fodders where close by, and spotted a few big guys who jumped out of the ground a few feet away, their backs facing Ed and Zaph, not yet noticing them
Man, I love being tall. I can't stand it when people are short.

The two men flexed a lot and then laughed obnoxiously.

Edward's eyes lit up like little flames as his brows turned downwards angrily. He cracked his knuckles, making a very loud sound doing so. Edward slammed his hand onto the ground while sending the built up raiton chakra into it, yelling,
THIS IS YOUR ENDS, YOU FOOLS!!

Well done! Next time, just post the technique performed in spoilers or something so I can tell the order of performance.

Now to B ranks! Now this technique requires an Ox hand seal and intricate Raiton molding. After doing the aforementioned you'll hold out your hand to form a wall of pure lightning to discourage frontal attacks of the sort. Take note it doesn't cover your back side just the front as its just a wall. But I'm sure you get the picture. Defend yourself!

Now this is similar to the lightning wall only that its a convex barrier of lightning that can be used to advance on the enemy while defending. Its like using a Spartan shield to charge at the foe while covering yourself. Its proven as effective in some scenarios but don't overuse it, you'll get predictable.

The electrical wall completely defended Edward from the large rock and its smaller shards which came forth from it. After a moment, Edward lowered his arms and released the technique.

As Zaph said that, Kakashi jumped over him and charged at Ed, yelling that he would be the next Raikage and that Ed wouldn't be. As Kakashi charged at him, Ed gathered raiton chakra in his right hand, shaping it into a sphere of lightning. He looked at the sphere for a moment, pondering whether it seemed more like a chidori or rasengan to him. When Kakashi got close enough, Edward took a step forwards and punched him with the sphere of lightning. As he punched Kakashi, Edward yelled out:

Raiton: Chigan!!! (CHIdori + rasenGAN = CHIGAN)

Now for this technique we have a generic Raiton discharge technique. Its like sending a wave of bolts through a medium be it the ground, the air, or water. Quite useful I might add. This technique really shines if you have the ability to mold Suiton and Raiton at the same time though, you can electrify a water technique for added 'umph' simultaneously. Unfortunately for you, you can only channel this through a medium if you haven't a Shadow Clone or ally.

In fact, certain users have showed that its possible to, if the user has the ability to mold both Water and Lightning chakras at the same time (for example, Darui who has Storm Release), unleash this particular technique at the same time as they exhale/spit some water technique (which needs to consist of a stream of water), combining both in a seemingly consecutive move. Other ninjas will need to use a clone or an ally for the same effect.

Now for this technique we have a generic Raiton discharge technique. Its like sending a wave of bolts through a medium be it the ground, the air, or water. Quite useful I might add. This technique really shines if you have the ability to mold Suiton and Raiton at the same time though, you can electrify a water technique for added 'umph' simultaneously. Unfortunately for you, you can only channel this through a medium if you haven't a Shadow Clone or ally.

As the fodder was forming each handseal and calling out said handseal's name carefully and slowly, Edward focused doton chakra into the ground below to create a ledge and ladder which he climbed up to the top of. He waited patiently for the guy to get the the 10th handseal before raising his right hand towards the sky and sending raiton chakra into it. Multiple bolts of lightning struck down upon the fodder a moment before he would have formed the final handseal. He also jumped off the ledge and 360 no scoped the guy.

and was looking straight at him. Before the wolf could do anything, Edward formed the Ram → Boar → Dog → Bird → Hare handseals and released raiton chakra into the ground. Forcing parts of the earth upwards, he surrounded the wolf with four pillars. The wolf looked at the pillars and suddenly had a hallucination. It saw the pillars as giant bones with some meat still on them and ran over to one, gnawing on it. The pillars quickly afterwards released bolts of lightning at the wolf, shocking it all over.

Edward ran over to the ocean once again, weaving the Rabbit → Dog → Boar → Ram → Rat handseals as he did. One by one, Edward saw the look of horror cross their faces as they saw him approaching. Some of the surfers jumped off of their boards and tried to swim for land, others flopped, and some didn't care because surf is lyfe. Edward reached the beach and slammed his hand into the water, grabbing hold of the sand below and called out:

After Edward said this, he focused raiton chakra into his hand and out into the water, shocking the ninja.

Edward clapped his hands together and gathered raiton chakra in them. He looked at the field of dummies, some marked as civilians and some as enemies. He slammed his hands onto the ground, releasing the built up raiton chakra into it. Finding that it was easy to control, he split the current of lightning which was in front of him into multiple parts and had them race towards the enemy dummies while evading the civilian ones.

Edward listened as Zaph explained the next technique to him. He raised his hand towards the sky and gathered raiton chakra in it. He called out to the mighty thunder god "A", asking him to bless this particular jutsu with his mighty powers. Edward realized that a rhino was approaching once he was finished calling out to A. Sending the raiton chakra which Edward had built up into the sky, he kept watch of the rhino. Before it could get much closer, Ed sent a bolt of lightning down from the sky towards the rhino, zapping it.

Edward gathered raiton chakra between his palms, shaping it carefully into a whip as he looked at the clone which Zaph had just created. Even though the whip was made completely of lightning, it didn't hurt at all to hold it. He just figured that it was probably because it was made with his chakra or something. Ed spun around in a circle going clockwise, forcing the whip to extend outwards and hit the clone multiple times as he kept spinning. The clone attempted to fight back and leapt towards Ed, but he countered by continuing his spinning and moving his wrist up and down quickly to make the whip go up and down as well, creating a better defense.

As for Lightning Rod it comes from your hand not the sky. Silly candle.

So this move was orinigally Kakashi's but here we are. Use your dominant hand to form lightning then through some pretty neat shape manipulation I want you to shape that lightning into a ferocious four footed beast. As it travels from you its connected to you via a lightning tether so unless you have Y/Y you won't be able to perform any other techniques while this is active. Once it passes the mid ranged mark its useless so keep in mind the distance between your opponent.

This was Kakuzu's move I believe? Anyway, here we are. Again, no hand seals needed. Just focus Raiton into your mouth and spit out a spear of pure sharp lightning at your enemy. Now this spear can reach up to long ranged and its quite the versatile technique. It can even split up into smaller spears for more enemies so definitely think about this when you want a quick offense/defense.

And lastly, if you haven't learned B ranked Ninjutsu this is the closest you'll go to Shadow Clones for now. Its made of pure lightning so that's a plus meaning, when its dispersed it turns into unfocused lightning which can electrocute enemies (well from what we've seen in the manga). Its capable of Ninjutsu and Taijutsu but only knows Raiton up to B ranked. But if you're a lightning user this is just up your alley.
