Just saw this a while ago:

Steins;Gate has been my favorite anime ever since I first saw it, so personally I'm ecstatic to hear there might be another anime series about it:) Your thoughts on this news?

I loved that series for it's story, but I'm crossing my fingers we'll see more Moeka boobs <3:

The plot seems interesting too, this is more of a alternate scenario than a true sequel, based off the description.
Well, it's not following up on the "true" ending, but it's a continuation of one of them. I actually looked up a bit more on it and this is what it's supposed to be:

If you remember the last two episodes, this is the world line that leads to the Okabe that created the time machine that Suzuha used to go back and stop WWIII from breaking out, and also made the video that helped convince the Okabe that DID save Kurisu to go back to the day he found her stabbed to death one more time.

So basically, the premise of the new game/anime follows up on that in some way, shape, or form, only it's supposed to be a sequel more than a Future Trunks saga-esque story, which I'd personally really like to see:)

Oho? ..................... one of all time faves as well, hopefully yeah, I know the novels involved the cast being older from what we saw in the anime.

Why are you assuming I was referring to the animation/production companies? You misunderstood. What I meant was, "As long as the second season doesn't tarnish the very good that the first season did, then why not?"
Because I don't see any relation between the two anime . Steins;Gate is a visual novel adapted into an anime while Darker than Black is an anime original . A better comparision would have been Chaos;Head made by the same team which had a pretty bad anime adaption .

You're dull. Darker than Black had a second season that bombed. The first season was great. I'm saying as long as that won't happen to Steins;Gate, then no harm is done. There doesn't need to be any sort of correlation between the two like you're talking about. Please understand. I really can't get any clearer than that. Well, I probably could, but I hope to God that you can read and interpret words for yourself so that I shouldn't need to.

I already got it on your first post . I just said that it's a bad comparison because it's very unlikely that it'll get the Darker than Black treatment . The Darker than Black sequel was a cashgrab since the story was supposed to end after the first season unlike Steins;Gate which is part of a bigger universe .
