So this leads to my main point.
Say there is a fact that needs to be verified.
With lack of evidence, automatically assume that the politically incorrect alternative is true. Because the world is cruel so it makes sense to take this route.
For example, does physical appearance matter in getting a date? Well, if we don't have solid scientific evidence for whether it matters or not, then we should err on the side of caution and say, YES, looks are everything.
Does IQ matter in life? YES because that is the politcially incorrect answer.
Does luck matter more than hard work? Yes, because that isn't what you want to hear.
The burden of proof falls on those siding with the politically correct side. The answer that we want is unlikely to be true because the world isn't how we want it to be.
Certainly better than setting ourselves up for disapointment.
