Is Hokage Kakashi really a fodder?

I think he's unfairly underrated. He's still got an entire repertoire of skills, his intelligence is up there with the best, and his experience helps too.

I think he's underrated (badly) as well.

Still, he's pretty damn f***ing lazy, especially during peace time - perhaps too comfortable in his percieved superiority? His rising the ranks at such a young age didn't really do him any favours in the longrun. He (for years) didn't possess much motivation beyond just enduring life day by day...

After the (3rd) war and all the losses he sustained (Sakumo, Obito, Rin, Minato, Kushina), the trauma he suffered etc he was well... not quite motivated enough to progress in the same way Sasuke and Naruto did. He barely held onto his sanity and Guy was his social life outside ANBU.

His development became stagnant, PTSD linked to the Chidori didn't do any favours either - and then there's that damn Sharingan, sure sure it helped with his Chidori but the drawbacks were immense - the chakra is constantly sucked out of him, then when activated was ridiculous.

I don't think he was "fodder" as Hokage. Was he on the same level as Naruto and Sasuke? No. No one is, not unless you count their previous incarnations.

Is he Kage-level - yes.
Can he hold his own against the other Kage? - yes.

His feats are plenty impressive in their own right, he did pretty well I feel - but I also feel like he was purposefully side-lined by Naruto or Sasuke by Kishi in ways that (to me) weren't realistic/constistent with canon that had gone before it.

But at the point of the 4th Shinobi War, I think Guy would have destroyed anyone (still living) in taijutsu. His fight against Madara proves (surely?) that his taijutsu is superior to Kakashi's.

Might Guy owns taijutsu.

Non sharingan Kakashi is underrated here. I saw someone say he is chunin level. Kakashi is still a genius and has many skills. Far from fodder. He just isn't in the top tiers anymore.
