From what I gather IB has been split and a certain cult has migrated to a group called ST and there is a war between the 2 cults

You don't seem to be accounting for chakra control - those with smaller reserves who can use/manipulate chakra to greater effect and use less than those with poorer control.

My head-canon tells me - whilst recognising his feats/achievements - that Itachi didn't have particuarly large chakra reserves. That's not to say they were insignificant... but I believe his chakra was strong/potent in quality, but his control/ability to manipulate chakra exceeded the actual quantity he possessed.

Sasuke: larger chakra reserves, decent control
Itachi: smaller chakra reserves, exceptional control

= enable them to meet one somewhat even ground in terms of techniques/times used.

... though obviously had Itachi been fighting (for real) he would have kicked his foolish little brother's ass up and down the five nations. =D

Great thread. That second Amaterasu usage alone puts the 'small reserves' logic to shame.

He didn't use kage bunshin, he used karasu bunshin which is made up of crows and uses less chakra than kage bunshins, your misconception thread itself contains misconception.

"It is POSSIBLE to use less chakra ..." Looks like you have little proof as to how much he used. This 'less' is declared as a possibility only. Not even a fact. Half reserves it is. OR close to half, even if one does go by this.

Sasuke's chakra control is at the Sage's level in the manga at the end. And before that, his chakra control was unmatched. Above decent? Absurd.
