the 4th hokage when doing the reaper death seal told kushina this is the only thing he can do because he can't become a jinchuruki yet he clearly does when he is brought back via de tensei. so if he could've done this all alone wouldn't it've been better for him to just live and become a jinchuruki and stay with naruto like cushion wanted... i know what some will say story plot but still thats why i think he rushed through finishing naruto without thinking everything through when you have a manga with the volume and impact such a naruto you need to make sure no mistakes are made and that everything is explained naruto has ended and htheir are honest hundreds of questions that we did not get the answer too,

He thought that the FULL power of the Kyuubi was too great to be left in their world (after witnessing the destruction of the leaf/Kyuubi's power). Even under the protection of powerful Shinobi's such as himself and the third, it was too dangerous and schemers (like the masked man/Obito) are out there, he didn't want something like that to ever happen again.

So the only option he had was to take half of the Kurama with him to the death and that was in my opinion a great/selfless act of heroism considering the position he was in.

The fourth did not say that he was sealing the nine tails because he "could not become a jinchuuriki." What he said was he was using the seal that "a jinchuuriki cannot use." Kushina, being a jinchuuriki, was unable to use the seal, and there was no one else in the barrier. He chose to permanently split the nine tails and die with it while leaving the other half in his son (remember, he died with the opinion that the seal was unbreakable, and hence was surprised that Orochimaru was able to bring him back.)

This. Minato stated the Kyuubi's chakra mass was too large and needed to be split up. He did what he believed was the most honorable and logical thing possible, to permanently split the power of the Kyuubi in two and make the world a better place.
