He had a lot of other things troubling him. With depression, anything can send you over the edge, no matter how minor it may seem from an observer's perspective. Itachi dying just happened to be the last straw for him :/

What a tragedy. But I dont think Hitachi's death is the sole reason. He could be depressed for a long time . Family stuff, school, there were many possible contributing factors for a suicide.

Some of the responses on here are disgusting and they are as detached from reality as this boy. It blows my mind that no one can see or wants to see that this boy did not kill himself because of Itachi but because of serious underlying problems. This wasn't in a book, this was a real boy, a real life and the fact that people are dehumanizing him because he was a fan of a manga character is shameful

One of the reasons this boy is dead is likely because people called him stupid and failed to see the issues building. Obviously this boy had serious problems, clung to a fictional character for comfort and support which is sad enough and when he died he felt he had nothing to live for. People who can't see that must have a constant mirror in front of there face
