Kishimoto is a very good writer, as him "ruining" characters symbolises humanity perfectly. Take Sakura for example. She started off as shit, just like we all start off in diapers. She became half-decent in the Sasori fight, just like most of us end up having half-decent middle-aged years. The ending of Sakura's development was a disaster, just like at the end of our lives, most of us become decrepit, frail and eventually end in disaster. It's a similar principle to most things in life like cars, houses, spouses etc.

I don't really care about madura and I thought it was alright that BZ stabbed him like a boss but honestly Madara really get shatted.

Most people would say kaguya ruined this series which is partly true but at the same time Kishi really ruined her character based off the hype and potential as an epic female villain. Seriously kishi with his sloppy writing insulted the reference of Princess Kaguya.

Kishi ruined pain as a villain when he get tnj by a book and revived everyone in the village, that totally defeat the purpose of infiltration of the hidden leaf village and it takes away all the suspense.

Neji was a great character but he got neglected in the entire shippuden and when he finally gets his time to shine, kishi shoved down to his throat which completely wasted his potential and was only used for pairing.

Kakashi also got ruined with having so much BS retcon either spamming MS which kishi made him turned out to weak without the sharing an.

Lol sure if that was what kishi was intendeding to write. You see the way to determine whether an element of writing is good/bad writing is to ask yourself two questions. 1 what is the author trying to convey to the audience? 2 how well does s he convey it?

If that is what kishi was trying to do then that's some damn good writing. Unfortunatley for him he wasnt.

He was just killing those who stood in his way that's exactly what the heroes of the story do. They both killed those who stood in the way of what they considered to be peace there is near no difference between them in terms of their morals beliefs. They are like two sides of the same coin really.

I dnt think so,that Kishi is ruining characters because if we should look and truly follow the story line,each and every charactered acted based on who they are and the intelligence they had at that moment. As for the wins and defeat I will say that young sasuke when still in konoha would have been killed by orochimaru if he ever tried to fight against him but we all know what happened next...if naruto as at that time fought against Pain he won't even last seconds,so its a matter of growth and the knowlegde and skills which each character possed at every given time and more else Naruto is full of suspense and if not for the suspense we won't be all that interested in the manga nor the anime,it would be very boring if all he detail were revealed to us immediately as to what happened and why. So I believe all what you are seeing as kishi ruining characters is just simply a misunderstanding..the way I see it it is just logic in which kishi is using in making Naruto a great anime for what it is a for it to be well talked about. The problem with this manga are the fans imo.

For me, shippuuden went downhill from the start. Kishimoto took one of the most original and baddass characters he had created(Gaara) and turned him into a p*ssy. This is not about responsibility as kazekage or any of that bullsh*t, this is about character personality. One does not go from a total psychopath to a monk in two-and-a-half years. And no he doesn't have to be killing people in sight like he did, but you can see the difference between how he was when he fought Kimimaro and how he is in Shippuuden. It's ridiculous, it's not even the same person.

This is the same with Naruto, which, as already mentioned here, turned out Jesus all of a sudden. Not only that but Kishimoto managed to ruin his personality too and that is the thing that pisses me off the most. Naruto used to be a lovable character, he was human. You could see the struggles of every character! They all had different personalities. When you get to the point when everyone in the manga goes like: "I WANNA BE HOKAGE!", there is something wrong there.

My point is, Kishimoto ruined Gaara's unique personality by making him be a total fanboy of Naruto, which in turn, turned out to be a total douchebag. Believe me, I really loved Naruto as a character but now he just doesn't feel like the original good-hearted, human Naruto. Kishimoto created a really good set of original characters and never used or developed them because the retarded fanbase only wants to see explosions and planetary proportions of jutsus. Why even bother to explain what's chakra or how jutsus work? They don't give a sh*t, they only care about who's stronger, who's the more, the most, the bigger! They don't give a sh*t about originality or plot of the story for that matter.

My guess is that the fanbase consists of 10 year old kids that didn't grow watching this and want to make this the dragon ball of their generation, or of people that have actually grown up watching this, like myself, but the difference is that since they're lacking in size somewhere else in their lives, they love big stuff and exaggerated jutsus.

Uzumaki clan are ignored throughout the manga and their strongest member doesn't even know their jutsu

Obito's love for Rin, so much bull it gave me cancer

Sasuke soloed by Killer Bee and fooled in the end(this one is worst)

soloed by Itachi, Gaara, Madara, Haku, Rock Lee and even Kaguya (he was saved)

Naruto soloed by Rock Lee,tied with Kabuto, lost to Sasuke,Madara

All those losses were in part 1, Madara killing them made them turn into gods

Orochimaru was ruined when he revived Tsunade, although his character is still salvageable...
He ruined Madara by keeping him around too long.
Ruined Tobi by making him Obito, though Tobi's whole character was bound to diminish once the mask came off.
He slightly ruined Gaara by making him a bigass Naruto fanboy.
He obliterated Sasuke in the final final final chapters...
Oh, and most characters shown in the last chapter have been ruined.

If there's blame to be laid, how much of it can be done at Kishi's feet? I always got the impression that he had, erm... some "ideas" (forceful suggestions) pushed his way by others that either completely obliterated his original intentions or forced him to create new characters/romances.

No idea if that's absolutely true, though. *shrug*

So, I guess what I'm saying is - as someone who has dabbled in writing - it's a hell of a lot harder to write in these edits, when you don't have the same regard/passion for them as you do your own original work.

Of course there's fan service too, that can be a real ******. *cough*Sasusaku*cough*


I don't think he's especially ruined any character tho, there are those I just don't like because... well, I despie their personality. But I suppose I wish he had more time/oppertunity to get further into backstories - or to focus on other clans like the Hyuga, Nara, Yamanaka etc.

But the man did pretty good with what he had, on that deadline. How many of you have produced an award winning long-running manga, hmm?
Kudos to what he's achieved, if it was all absolutely awful - why the f*ck are we all here?
