Well I don't think that Hiruzen had low Chakra reserves I believe he was very good in his own right...old Hiruzen lacked the stamina to fight so young Hiruzen would be so much better but I don't think using 5 elements at the same time needs so much Chakra...those were most likely C rank jutsus.

Do you seriously believe Hiruzen is able to use SM ?

There were only a few who could use it properly.

Thus far, Sage Mode has been shown to be taught in two places: at Mount Myōboku by the toads, and Ryūchi Cave by the snakes.

Hiruzen's summoning is monkey, so that's just not possible.

Edo Tensei: Knowing this, he could've undid the seals himself (like Madara did) to cancel the jutsu.

Rasengan: Before Naruto learned it, the only people who could do it were Jiraiya and Minato himself whom had taught it to Jiraiya.

Chidori/Raikiri: Kakashi said he only taught the jutsu Sasuke. And only sharingan users can use it.

Chakra Ehnaced Strength: Tsunade's signature jutsu requiring precise CC.

Regeneration: (either Tsunade's mitotic or Kabuto's Yin Healing) Since both are Leaf ninja born during Hiruzen's time


Face it. Hiruzen was hyped by Oro but didn't deliver or know the aforementioned jutsu; that would've made the biggest difference in his battle against him.

They don't have exactly unlimited reserves as edos tho, they have the same amount as when they were alive. It's just that when they use a huge amount of chakra, they can mold more of it easily since they have indestructible bodies.

Well going by the hype he should be able to use it. Sure SM is beign taught by toads and snakes, but there is no proof that it cant be learned elsewhere. For instance Hashirama can use SM and as far as DB and manga concerned he has no summoning contract.

It is quite possible he knew but not preferred it as a mean of combat. Considering that jutsu was invented by his master and inherited by his succesor. Unless of course you think Minato re-invented it and coincidentally named it the same.

To undo ET caster needs to cast the hand seals. Hiruzen had no way to make Orochimaru use those hand signs, since he isn't as effective at genjutsu as Itachi.

Madara only used the seals after the ET was undone. ET works like a summoning contract between user and the spirit. When user who is Kabuto undo the contract, spirit who is Madara used the hand seals and assumed to role of user as well.

Hiruzen's deal is hype. There is a possibility he knew how to use it, till Kakashi showed it we thought Minato only taught it to Jiraiya and we've been proven wrong. So according to hype it wouldn't be a pull ass if he knew how to use it. He used RDS which was Minato's jutsu, i doubt Rasengan is harder to learn.

Nope, not that. Chidori and Raikiri doesn't require sharingan to use it. Where did you come up with that ? Sharingan is necessary to cover the weakness of the attack which is sight.

Well Hiruzen doesn't have a Yin seal. But according to hype it could be possible he knew the basics of CES.

The same Orochimaru that seeked SM and acknowladged him as someone who can use all Konoha jutsus.
