There is barely any difference between Luffy at Marineford and Luffy at Sabaody, if any. Sentomaru was able to knock around Luffy like nothing because of his Haki, and he was hardly trying. Even if Luffy is at full strength, Sentomaru was portrayed to be much stronger than him at the time.

There is barely any difference between Luffy at Marineford and Luffy at Sabaody, if any. Sentomaru was able to knock around Luffy like nothing because of his Haki, and he was hardly trying. Even if Luffy is at full strength, Sentomaru was portrayed to be much stronger than him at the time.

Luffy just got destroying PX, so that part is invalid.

Luffy didn't activate any gears either.

Luffy before the marineford showed enough strength to fight Haki user in second gear.

The Boa sisters knocked around gearless luffy too, then he got serious and overpowered them both.

Same applies to the overgrown baby and he wasn't even a VA yet.

Sentoumaru isn't a baby. He is Sumo wrestler who used to work for Vegapunk but now is an official marine in charge to capture elite pirates like Luffy. I'm pretty certain he can even still give a fight to post-skip Luffy(although he'd lose), so i think Marineford Luffy was no match

I don't think luffy broke his Haki, he just overpowered him physically.

His armor wasn't enough to put down a fatigue luffy.

He's physically strong enough to take hit after hit without anymore significant injury.

I matched up marineford luffy with him because...

1. He took buddah sengoku's Haki punch

2. Sent a stand still Garp flying

3. TKO a giant with one punch

4. Took on some no name VA's I think but could be anime filler.

Luffy wouldn't even hurt Sentomaru, he claims to have an "incredibly strong guard", a statement which still stands to be true even now, post timeskip

Marineford luffy never said that though, but still even with haki he can still overpower him physically.

Not really. I could just go around claiming that Pre TS Luffy can beat Momonga and Dalmation since he never used gears when he fought them and was exhausted. Sentomaru was clearly portrayed as superior to Pre TS Luffy.
