Itachi Genjutsu

How come in VS threads with itachi people are like "if he doesn't look in his eyes genjutsu doesn't matter" like Itachi beat Orochimaru without even looking at him. Like I bet itachi could beat Guy before he even has time to get the 8th Gate without using Tsukuyomi. Either a regular Genjutsu or Finger genjutsu gives him too use any Jutsu on guy or just stab him? comments ?

Regular Genjutsu will be casted even if enemy doesnt have eye contact, but its not quite effective against high ranked ninjas like Gai .But if Itachi wants to harm him through genjutsu , He must use Tsukuyomi , which requires Eye contact !

When Gai enters Eighth Gates, he releases a huge amount of Chakra which comes off his body as steam. This chakra release can easily disrupt Gai's chakra flow and break a Genjutsu. So, I doubt this works.

Itachi's eye jutsu are the strongest in his arsenal. I think that is where the confusion is coming from. I think they forget that he is a genjutsu master meaning he can caste genjutsu with more than his eyes.

Like the finger pointing genjutsu he placed Naruto in with just...pointing.

As far as the beating Gai...it may not be that easy. Gai watches a genjutsu users feet. Not the fingers or the eyes. So where visual jutsu is concerned, Itachi is at a disadvantage.

But again, he is a genjutsu master so unless he can cast genjutsu with his feet, he will probably have to rely on genjutsu that effect the other senses to stop him from going Hachimon.

Yes itachi's genjutsu is extremely OP, but you're overrating it. High tier opponents almost always have sensory abilities or clones, thus making genjutsu next to useless.
