it is said by 2nd hokage that an uchiha that understands "love" can unlock greater power than senju. My opinion is that sasuke can surely activate some form of SM.

The knowledge that sasuke knows now could have possibly told us if manga were to continue on.

No, it isn't. The purpose of the CM is to test on people who can handle Senjutsu. Orochimaru always lacked a strong body for DSM, so take make sure that the Bodies he wanted can handle Senjutsu Chakra > he gifted them CM.

Isn't that what the OP stated. In both instances, the senjutsu/natural energy is inserted into the person via bite to test if they're able to handle it. If they survive, then the person is a strong enough candidate to be Orochimaru's vessel or be trained in senjutsu.
