This authors intent still doesn't make sense though. If we go by seeing at what age Hashirama died. We can see he died in his mid 30s. Meaning Tsunade was not that much older at that time yet. How are we supposed to ignore such a loop hole and claim Hashirama compared Sakura to Tsunade in her prime? Seriously use your brain mister!

Because it's the conclusion that makes the most sense based on what we've seen in the manga.

-Sakura has shown better strength feats than Adult Tsunade with all that experience.
-Subsequently, there's no way that Tsunade as a toddler could have "comparable" strength to her. It makes no sense

Hashirama could have estimated Tsunade's strength by extrapolating on what he saw from her as a kid? Either way, you're right that it wasn't good writing, but the fact is, I'd rather go with what Kishi meant to say, as opposed to following his "execution" of the general idea. Because, quite frankly, Sakura's strength in the manga is above Adult Tsunade's by feats, or at least on a similar level at the absolute worst. If that's the case, how on earth can Tsunade as a toddler have "comparable" strength to Sakura? It's obvious that Kishi meant to compare Sakura to Prime Tsunade.

Sakura had ample time to recognize what was happening to shikamru, she was helpless admit it. Sakura has been training for 3 years that's more than enough time for her to recognize something as simple as chakra exhaustion. Like I said she isn't a fool

He wasn't exhausted of Chakra, he had the majority of his life force sucked out of him by the god tree.

When Tsunade approached him, there weren't any broken limbs, abrasions, hemorrhaging Eternal/External, nor was he poisoned or he was almost lifeless so Tsunade with her restored chakra (restored by Karin Uzumaki) returned him back to suitable state for battle.
