all light had to do is instead of tell mikami : "dont do any unnecessary until today" he should have told him "do not dare to use the note book until today no matter what happenes got it?" also light could just told mikami to save a piece of the note book b4 he was taled by gevani (only light and the other death note users had the knowledge that a piece of the notebook have full effect) , this will work only if NEAR woudlnt use the real notebook on mikami b4 they came to the meeting place.

Yes Light won but L is supior. Light basically had 4 death notes, 2 semi helpful death gods, a fan girl with death god eyes and his own intelligence. L had the police (which was not really helpful, and his own intelligence. L literally would have won if he had one more day.

It went down after L's death... and Light was easily above both Mello and Near but the story was quickly wrapped up.
For someone like Light, 1) He had to rely on other individuals... 2) The blunder shown was a little too much...

Light's own fault. He had seen mikami take action for himself even before that and have appreciated him for that. He should've known that this would happen but he didn't. In short, his own mistake. Got killed... for good with that.

Light is million times better than Near and Mello, if we forget about how he dropped his IQ down to 300 towards the end of the series. I know L is smarter by a few inches or so, since it was intentional(being the best detective in the world and not being smarter than a genius kid would be wrong in all levels). I still prefer Light over him simply because he's more relatable to me. Show went to absolute worm fest when L died and we all know it. I believe, it should have ended with both of them dying in the end or both somehow got their memories erased and went back to their usual lives.
