I had the same feeling.

I got chills when they played the ED song in the final scene. I honestly did not expect him to do that. You see all these scenes of him caring about his sister and working his ass off, only for him to throw it all away in a state of wrath.

Dope episode, definitely gonna be one of those series people love when they get hip to it.

It just annoys me how that chick was interfering, especially since she isn't even suppose to be there. She was literally interfering with the process which annoyed me.

Ruining it? How so?

She is actually showing how flawed their system is. How can a puppet, without any knowledge on human emotion or life, judge the actions of humans?

She was literally running up grabbing the dude, telling him what not to do and how the system works. The arbiters are good judges because they remain unbiased.

While she is extremely biased, he knows what what he's doing. That's why he was selected to have his own floor and that's also why he was allowed to keep a human around.

That did not work out so greatly in the first episode, though. That alone was enough proof that his judgement can be flawed.

Her grabbing the guy and telling the Heaven/Hell truth might have been excessive, but I can understand. She wanted to make it clear that people act based on impulses or on the spur of the moment based on something simple such as wrath or provocation without a moments thought. Can you really judge a single person based on something he was probably not even able to control? That way the fault would be the fact that he is human. The ''extreme conditions'' created by the arbiters are almost forcing people to act a certain way. I don't see how that is fair.

Decim also didn't really know what he was doing in this case. He confirmed dealing with killers was a first for him and he didn't have any experience.

But decim was told how to deal with it, "They're still humans" and went about it as such. And in the end he was right, even with all that chicks bull the guy still broke the pieces. In my opinion putting someone in a situation like that were the players have to judge for themselves what kind of person they are is clever.

While she was freaking out the whole episode, she was way too emotional to make a logical decision and just backlashed at decim.

Oh, I definitely agree she was too emotional. As I said, her behavior might have been excessive, but I personally just don't agree with the way the arbiters are working. Decim is enough proof that others are also questioning the system. Decim was given human emotion which seem to be slowly developing now. Why would they even have given him emotion if they themselves thought the current system was fine enough?

I guess this is all based on our own perspective, though. I can definitely see where you are coming from. It's just due to the fact that Machiko was sent to the void in the first episode proves the system is somewhat questionable, even if it is only a little.

Yeah it's definitely perspective based, but that's make for good convos. But I also get what' you're saying. I can't remember the first episode well enough to speak on that but I don't remember thinking she was right. Just that she saw it from a perspective decim didn't.

As for the emotion thing I think they all have it to some extent.

Some of the events in the first 7 episodes are brought up in the latest episode. The plot is episodic but it's pretty deep. It's the best winter 2015 anime for sure IMO.

OT: Yes, it was amazing and Madhouse proving once again why they're the best anime studio.

To add on what Naoya Minato said...
Her interfering and telling him the true consequences was a nice setup and Decim knew he messed up. Shima. didn't care if he was sent to the void if it meant getting vengeance a second time.

What do you mean he knew? Because he was shocked by her calling him out in it?
