Caveat: I never said Sakura is a great character - I just maintain that she isn't as badly written as most of you bash her with pointless hate. Now that we are clear on that let's move on to actual reply-

Isn't half the problem here is that Fairy Tail is a character driven story? In writer's words story of Fairy Tail it was simply sitting in bars and partying with his friends, the community aspect, but is also about young people finding their calling. Characterization is a major thing going for the manga otherwise I don't see much praize for the plot or depth of the story. All guild members have to have some action because they are team in that adventure. But you forget that such character then fight the trailer made villains - with whom they are most suitable to fight and thus gain feats. But it doesn't make them as more substantial character by default. To me she strikes more like Temari if we are talking about "type" of character, even though Temari is in supporting caste only and not part of the main team.
Fairy Tail is not a serious story to begin with so I don't even know why you bother saying this like I didn't already know that. Fairy Tail is mainly known for it's humor, fan service and plot holes. From a story standpoint, yes, it is worse than Naruto's but there are characters from Naruto whose development suck even if the story is good.

Temari isn't innocent and she doesn't try to innocently indirectly get boys attention with her lustful body. Temari is more tomboyish and she likes to kick ass. How does that even strike as Lucy?

Back to Naruto- One plus or minus depending on how you look at it - story of Naruto is not story of shinobi world and ninjas in general, not even of Konoha 11 or team 7 even but story of Naruto and his growth. Development and screen time of other characters also depends on their level of interaction with Naruto or those who are important in his life for the most part.

There is no part 1 and part 2 in manga. But if we are going by Sakura's growth as a character- she starts with a very typical random girl in team 7- pretty cliche and she instantly reminded me of Hiromi in Beyblade or other such characters. A girl which is added to the team as a non playing team mate. A sisterly/motherly character - slightly annoying and haughty towards the main character but slowly comes to know the people better and starts helping out and becomes a sort of groupie. She had every ingredient to remain in the same caste.

But then she improves- and does so despite her teacher Kakashi doing nothing to teach her anything better. He observes her being smitten over Sasuke and just let' it be. His attitude towards her protective but as a teacher he doesn't try to work on her skill much. And in middle of the chunin exams he literally exploits her weakness for Sasuke against her and drops her training altogether. He didn't even try to ask Ebisu to teach her too- which probably would have made him more check himself when dealing with Naruto.

Sakura observes things around her and level of her team mates in general and tries to keep up as much she can - There is not much time for her to cover up initially-
"Tries to keep up as much as she can"
How? By pouting at how far ahead they are without trying to do anything about it? You think learning some "medical ninjutsu" will ever match the powers of Sasuke and Naruto?

She failed the moment she made it a goal to match those two. That is an impossible goal for her and she just looks desperate and pathetic trying to accomplish it, when having to be saved every moment when she gets cocky and thinks she has done something noteworthy.

In Zabuza arc there were still genins and she doesn't have hidden jubbi or sharingan to come to her aid during battle unlike the other two kids in her team. Minus those advantages she was best in her team and it's no surprise she doesn't notice the problem at first.
More complaining about not having special powers? Yeah yeah, I've already heard this. That's not going to justify her lack of power or resolve.

By the Chunin exams she was already nervous before entering it. Kakashi entered her because she was part of the team. And funny thing is - that despite his constant hits on Sakura, Naruto was entirely self centered initially and it's Sasuke who gives her confidence. During chunin exams again it's Sasuke who tells Naruto to save Sakura no matter what. He was back to support her even in Zabuza arc. And in chunin exams Sakura put twice her life on the line to save him despite it her being considerably weaker to the opponent ( Naruto too- the kunai and then when both guys were uncnsious.). So there was enough interaction between Sakura and him for Sakura to fall for him beyond the initial crush and Sasuke was reciprocating enough despite her his general aloofness. He was angry enough seeing her hair cut when he came back to life.
@bold: First of all, what "interactions?" If there were any "interactions" then it was to tell her to "leave me alone" and "get lost" or that she was annoying. Almost all of their "interactions were horrendous and Sasuke was careless, oh but somehow Sakura deserved to fall for him then? That's hilarious.

And you think "interactions" and "small praise" can make up for what happened afterwards? Do you even know what happened afterwards or are you going to justify this as well because he apologized to her at the end?

Considering the fact that she didn't know anything about him or where he can from, or about his past, his clan, his childhood endeavors, and the fact that she was always being pushed away when trying to be invited in, I find it hard to believe for someone to fall for someone like that. She had no reason to fall for him at that point, and even when Shippuden started she still had no reason.

>Sakura was head over heels for Sasuke in the beginning
>Sasuke didn't have the same feelings back
>Sasuke becomes even darker in Shippuden and much more distant
>Sakura tries to kill him on her own
>Sasuke defends himself and almost ends her life
>Sakura then tries to kill her again
>Sasuke grabs Sakura's neck and almost kills her again
>Sasuke trash talks Sakura during the war
>Sasuke disregards Kakashi and Sakura in the war
>At the end when Naruto brings him back to the light he then decides to apologizes to Sakura

But it's fine. She was smart to fall for him, right?

But during that chunin exma break both guys had leaned some awesome tech while she was told to sit in a corner by Kakashi. Then Itachi appeared. That lead to Kakashi and Sasuke in coma while Naruto was off with Jiraiya. Not much after leaving hospital Sasuke leaves.

In terms of chapters and serialization it was a long enough time but the actual time passed was not that much. When and who would teach Sakura? And how exactly she was supposed to stop someone like Sasuke? She was clearly relatively new person in her life and his brother and family's death had been on his mind far longer and very strongly due to circumstances. Shikamaru didn't even let her come on the mission and as a last ditch attempt she asked Naruto to bring him back.

Part of it was to give Naruto one of the many reasons to bring him back later on, another was to lead him away from her and towards Hinata. He had already fought with Neji in her name. And after this mission proved itself a big failure and seeing Naruto's condition in hospital she asked Tsunade to train her. Result of her training as a medic and as a fighter was shown in Gara rescue arc after the time skip. But clearly her growth as a character was not static even before that.

Lucy has a goal for herself. Sakura has too- she wanted to be a shinobi. She became one. Then she decided to expertise in medicine and she became an excellent medic too. Barring Kabuto and Tsunade dew can compete with her in that field. Not bad accomplishment for a normal girl.
Show me in the manga where it states that Sakura's goal is to be a Shinobi. I want to see this.

And since we are talking about her "goals" as you like to think she has. Tell me the reason why she wanted to study under Tsunade and get stronger, and while you're at it, tell me the exact time of when she decided to do this.

-She had no goals for herself so for a main female that is sad
-She made an impossible goal of trying to catch up to NaruSasu which made her look even more of a joke
-She only wanted to get stronger just after Sasuke left the village and she lost all hope
-She didn't decide to train on her own when Sasuke stayed in the village because she was to busy making apples for Sasuke.

Face it, she never had a goal and to this day she still doesn't. She is a housewife now.

If her goal was to be the best medical ninja or to be the strongest Kunoichi then you can shut my mouth, but she has nothing, so she is bland.

As for substance - not having a love interest has nothing to do with that. The whole Fairy tail manga is not known that much for "substance" let alone a character if you are trying to go that deep.

Serving better purpose - yea if fighting tailor made fights like Nami or Lucy do and providing fan service when need be is serving the purpose then yes they do. lol

Otherwise I think Hwa Rin served in progress of the hero better than all three.
It's not just about Sakura having a love interest. It's about her entire character being built upon her love interest. Her "love" is blind and it distracts her from what truly matters. Look at her this entire manga. She can't even make a goal for herself that didn't involve Sasuke. Yes, when it comes to Lucy or Nami, despite their characters being standard cliche barbie dolls, they still have goals to push them forward.

So it fails on every other thing but moves on the basis of character likability and fan service. Naruto is not character driven so writer doesn't need to flesh them out as much. It's that simple point which you miss.

Temari isn't innocent and she doesn't try to innocently indirectly get boys attention with her lustful body. Temari is more tomboyish and she likes to kick ass. How does that even strike as Lucy?
Saying the type doesn't mean character being identical in finer details. Type as in Lucy is a character which is most likely to remain the same till the end even if she bags more feats and powers at some point. And ultimately won't be on par with others even if she has more feats on paper.
"Tries to keep up as much as she can"
How? By pouting at how far ahead they are without trying to do anything about it? You think learning some "medical ninjutsu" will ever match the powers of Sasuke and Naruto?
Yea ignore that she is the best medic of her age on the field and only over all on third position after Kabuto and Tsunade.

She failed the moment she made it a goal to match those two. That is an impossible goal for her and she just looks desperate and pathetic trying to accomplish it, when having to be saved every moment when she gets cocky and thinks she has done something noteworthy.
Nope. As she carved a place for herself in team which only she can fill and is able to supplement them and aid them actively. And it's noteworthy to be able to do that for a pretty normal shinobi with no special techs or powers inherited or given out by others. None in the konoha 11 reached that level from that point.

More complaining about not having special powers? Yeah yeah, I've already heard this. That's not going to justify her lack of power or resolve.
So without her lack of resolve and hard work without special gifts from special brothers, fathers and sages how did she achieve it?

@bold: First of all, what "interactions?" If there were any "interactions" then it was to tell her to "leave me alone" and "get lost" or that she was annoying. Almost all of their "interactions were horrendous and Sasuke was careless, oh but somehow Sakura deserved to fall for him then? That's hilarious.
You really overreact a lot and miss a lot while focusing on one scene without context.

And you think "interactions" and "small praise" can make up for what happened afterwards? Do you even know what happened afterwards or are you going to justify this as well because he apologized to her at the end?
The same interactions and praise which you just denied and declared non existent in last para? I don't find it that romantic a story but I can see where writer was trying to take it. I don't have to agree with his decision and he could probably put more effort in it but it's done. Life is not as simple and it's not a romance manga so I was not looking for it. Get over it. Nothing more to it.

That's your problem. I see a lot of reasons- Initially, he looked cool and ideal- general reason to be noticed and remain in gaze. His slans death was also a big factor in everything being sympathetic towards him. Next as a team mate, he is there to aid her and even if he got angry at her for calling Naruto an orphan, she was at fault for not considering that Sasuke too was an orphan. She in fact realize that she shouldn't have said that so I don't see why she would be angry over it. And after Orochimaru attacked him and left him on verge of death. And when he asked her not to tell others about it it's another level of sharing a secret. They didn't even bother to tell Naruto about attack of sound nins when he gained consciousness. And then return of Itachi and his attack and again the coma.

Basically Sakura was already observing him because she was attracted and then one after another such incidents happen which gained Sasuke more empathy and caring from her.

There is no manga shippudeden. :| She had fallen for him way before he left. And after Naruto made a promise he made it hard for her to forget it too. :p

>Sakura was head over heels for Sasuke in the beginning
>Sasuke didn't have the same feelings back
Replied already.

>Sasuke becomes even darker in Shippuden and much more distant
>Sakura tries to kill him on her own
>Sasuke defends himself and almost ends her life
>Sakura then tries to kill her again
>Sasuke grabs Sakura's neck and almost kills her again
Wasn't that one of the lowest point in his character completely losing it when
> When he almost stabbed Karin
> When he almost killed her
> when he asked Sakura to kill her
> when he left Karin to die
> when he left his whole team to die or fend for itself after dragging them to the Kage summit
>Sasuke trash talks Sakura during the war
Right after rushing to save her instead of taking benefit of the distraction.

>Sasuke disregards Kakashi and Sakura in the war
'Repeating the same scene from different angles? Replied above.

>At the end when Naruto brings him back to the light he then decides to apologizes to Sakura
At the end Naruto brought her back and fulfilled his promise - a promise which he made to Itachi and the sage. And after he lost his arm to do it what was Sakura supposed to do? No matter how you look at it, the moment Naruto promised to bring Sasuke back and refuse to let go of his promise even if she tried to remove it by a confession, he made sure that she ends up with him.

There was no way she would look good- she was done for if she refused Sasuke at that point and it would suck just as much as her forgiving him. Moral of the story- don't make such stubborn people as Naruto make this kind of promises to you. You may regret it either way.

But it's fine. She was smart to fall for him, right?
Smartness would stop you from falling for anyone but be self centered and gold digger instead. ^_^

Show me in the manga where it states that Sakura's goal is to be a Shinobi. I want to see this.
She joined Ninja academy and was learning in the classes sincerely. That's called showing and is considered better story telling as against merely "telling" when it comes to writing.

And since we are talking about her "goals" as you like to think she has. Tell me the reason why she wanted to study under Tsunade and get stronger, and while you're at it, tell me the exact time of when she decided to do this.
When she watched heavily injured Naruto and her inability to help him out in anyway. Are you having as guy moment of slow understanding? It was a gradual realization and direction and logical one in her circumstances. A medic as Hokage who has been constantly being of big help in the village and curing Lee, kakashi, Sasuke and then treating Naruto was bound to be an ideal.

-She had no goals for herself so for a main female that is sad
-She made an impossible goal of trying to catch up to NaruSasu which made her look even more of a joke

It's not a story of every character making some kind of everyone finding a dream for themselves. Naruto and Sasuke are looking for specifics because of their personal circumstances and others are setting them up getting inspirations from people around them or in their team. Sakura didn't left her home in search of magical guild - because the plot gave her a career since her introduction and she only has to grow on that road.

It's not just about Sakura having a love interest. It's about her entire character being built upon her love interest. Her "love" is blind and it distracts her from what truly matters. Nami's goal is making the world map. Great. Is that enough? What was the last interesting thing Nami did? Seriously? After time skip only growth I see is her bikini size. There is nothing wrong in having personal preferences but if you are going to bring in character think of some character which actually matters and is in similar position.

Otherwise Sakura is simply an average character in a conservative verse. Yes, she was added to be love interest of a supporting character Sasuke. Nothing exceptional about it but nothing to hate on her either. Why so much fuss on this scale?

Closest case would be of Hernione from HP where writer chose to make the female character more important but Kishi picked a series of other characters and used male bonding theme. As a girl I definitely prefer Hermione but as a reader I didn't mind reading others.

Before I go on, Femme. If you're reading this, Second Mizukage is > Sakura. This is a fact of life that you must accept; something that will never change. Bow down and pray to Lord Trollkage, perhaps he shall find pity and have mercy on your poor, excessively fangirlish soul.

Yes, make up more excuses for Sakura's crappy character. I love it.

Saying the type doesn't mean character being identical in finer details. Type as in Lucy is a character which is most likely to remain the same till the end even if she bags more feats and powers at some point. And ultimately won't be on par with others even if she has more feats on paper.
Lucy is stale, but at least we know crap about her past, which you seem to miss when it comes to Sakura.

Sakura is a main female and yet we have nothing regarding her history or her life story. That's not special. That's pathetic.

Yea ignore that she is the best medic of her age on the field and only over all on third position after Kabuto and Tsunade.
Yes, and you ignore the fact that comparing her to her generation was not my point, but comparing her to team 7, and the fact that she is apart of team 7 and trying to be at their level is laughable and ended in failure because it never happened.

Nope. As she carved a place for herself in team which only she can fill and is able to supplement them and aid them actively. And it's noteworthy to be able to do that with pretty normal shinobi with no special techs or powers inherited or given out by others. None in the konoha 11 reached that level from that point.
Call me when she can beat them in a fight.
Also call me when she will stop pouting about trying to catch up to them knowing that that will never happen.

If her only purpose for the team is to be an aid then maybe she should stop making idiotic promises that she can't keep.

So without her lack of resolve and hard work without special gifts from special brothers, fathers and sages how did she achieve it?
By being desperate because "Sasuke kun" left the village. Honestly, do you even pay attention to this manga? Do you honestly believe that that little girl decided to get stronger for herself? If you seriously think that then you should stop right now. That thought didn't even cross her mind before Sasuke left Konoha. FACT. If "Sasuke kun" never left the village then she wouldn't have bothered to get stronger. FACT.

Which means that she would have continued to be useless and weak while lusting over Sasuke like an annoying fangirl. FACT.

You really overreact a lot and miss a lot while focusing on one scene without context.
And yet you can't prove me wrong and still stuck in the world of Disney Land and that dark knight being distant and trying to save the useless girl from harm. Give me a break.

If you can't see what actually happened and still find her love to be solid and understandable then I won't bother with this repetitive nonsense any further.

Don't make up bs as if it makes sense for Sakura to fall for him. It makes you support crappy writing.

There is no manga shippudeden. :| She had fallen for him way before he left. And after Naruto made a promise he made it hard for her to forget it too. :p
And this is exactly the type of BS that I am referring to, as if you believe that it was okay for Sakura to throw herself at him without knowing a damn thing about him. He looked cool, so somehow this is a good enough reason to catch her attention right?

His clan's revenge was the only thing he cared about and getting stronger to meet his goals. An annoying girl that had no place for him was none of his business nor did it concern him, and yet she persisted like a dog who can't learn to stop barking and stay out of the house when he's hold to.

"She fell for him way before Shippuden?" That's not my point, sweety. Whether she fell in love with him or not is not the problem. It's why she fell in love with him and for what reasons. You can come up with all this nonsense as much as you like as to how it was cute or cool but at the end of the day she is just a weak girl who can't resist Uchiha DNA with long black hair. Deal with it and move on from your fantasies.

Wasn't that one of the lowest point in his character completely losing it when
> When he almost stabbed Karin
> When he almost killed her
> when he asked Sakura to kill her
> when he left Karin to die
> when he left his whole team to die or fend for itself after dragging them to the Kage summit
Sakura was a victim of his hated hand and would have died twice, but that is fine so long as Sakura is happy then it's okay for her to love him, right?

And you call yourselves Sakura fans by trying to justify this pair? smh

Right after rushing to save her instead of taking benefit of the distraction.
That's cute, because right after I remember him putting her in Genjutsu and then stating how he had no feelings for her, and how exactly should she love somebody like him. It's like Sasuke was speaking with logic for a moment there, but at the end it was all nullified because of shitty writing.

Repeating the same scene from different angles? Replied above.
Because you keep dodging what I'm saying with this irrelevant nonsense that I have already heard before.

And I am not repeating anything. Stating that Sasuke is trash talking Sakura and then stating that he is disregarding Sakura are two different things and two different moment that I was referring to.

Don't make assumptions about what I am doing when I am not even doing it.

There was no way she would look good- she was done for if she refused Sasuke at that point and she was done for forgicing. Moral of the story- don't make such stubborn people as Naruto make this kind of promises to you. You may regret it either way.
What was Sakura supposed to do? I don't know. How about you look at chapter 699 when she makes that stupid face and volunteers to leave her village to go with Sasuke then you can tell me what she shouldn't have did.

It's not necessarily about the apology. It's about how weak she became without even questioning his motives despite what happened before. It's quite sad and it was an ugly site.

Smartness would stop you from falling for anyone but be self centered and gold digger instead. ^_^
She can save a friend, but her loving him is where she is deemed a joke.

She joined Ninja academy and was learning in the classes sincerely. That's called showing and is considered better story telling as against merely "telling" when it comes to writing.
Everyone joins the ninja academy. It doesn't mean that everyone cares about being a ninja/Shinobi. If I recall, her only goal of joining the ninja academy and becoming a Genin was to be closer to Sasuke. Boy I wish you would stop deluding yourself. Sakura had no goal of being a Shinobi because if she did have that goal then she would focus more on her ninjutsu than boys.

-Naruto joined the ninja academy to become Hokage and to be acknowledged
-Sasuke joined the ninja academy to become stronger so he could one day kill his brother
-Sakura joined the ninja academy to chase after Sasuke and be with him

Don't even play with me. You know damn well she never had a goal of caring about being a Shinobi and the fact that you can't even give me a scan of proving this speaks for itself.

Funny how you completely missed my point.

You like to repeat same things over and over to make up for lack of new content to add... don't over do it.. one would think you are in love with your own onions a little too much.

^^
And writing long meaningless essays on how Sakura is a justifiable character is better? Yeah, okay.

Face it she achieved her goals and found new ones. ^^ And don't you dare to look down on a housewife or I will have to sic Izumi Curtis on you.
What did she achieve?
>Bringing Sasuke back?
>Making Sasuke her love partner?
>Having a child with Sasuke?

Funny how her only accomplishments come back to Sasuke, but please do try to ignore this.

She grows and adjusts her goals according to her circumstances and the plot. What's so difficult to understand here? What's goal of Shikamaru? Lee? It's not a story of every character making some kind of everyone finding a dream for themselves. Naruto and Sasuke are looking for specifics because of their personal circumstances and others are setting them up getting inspirations from people around them or in their team. Sakura didn't left her home in search of magical guild - because the plot gave her a career since her introduction and she only has to grow on that road.
1. @bold: And that's why she is a boring character. She can only do things if other characters are involved. She has no set motive by herself which makes her lame and boring. Like I already stated, her character is only moved by Sasuke and arguably Naruto's relevance.

2. Don't bring in other characters because you are too desperate to defend this character. Lee, Shikamaru, are any of these characters even relevant anymore? Do you not understand that their time has ended a long time ago? Like seriously, how difficult is it for you people to understand that Sakura should have had much more depth to her character given her stance in the story, just like with Naruto and Sasuke and yet she is outshined in that category by side characters.

So what, are we going to argue about Tenten and what her goals are? It's a shame when Tsunade, her own teacher has a much better story than her.

What does truly matters for her? lol Who gets to decide what truly matters for her?
You're right. Let's let the mind of a 16 year old thirsty girl decide what is best for her love life. That would be the best option, no?

What does truly matter for Shikamaru? What did truly matter for Kakashi? What did truly matter for Gai?
>Shikamaru is the assistant of the 7th Hokage. He also had his development after his sensei died and he proved how mature he had gotten

>Gai is disabled but he always wanted what was best for Lee and he is one of the best Taijutsu masters in the manga

>Kakashi is practically oblivious but we know that he was there to mentor his students and to help Obito(partially)

Would you like to know what truly matters for Tenten? Would you like to know what truly matters for Ino? Wold you like to know what truly matters for Kiba?

Ask Kishi if you want to know.

Nami's goal is making the world map. Great. Is that enough? What was the last interesting thing Nami did? Seriously? After time skip only growth I see is her bikini size. There is nothing wrong in having personal preferences but if you are going to bring in character think of some character which actually matters and is in similar position.
Nami's goal is to make a map of the world. Is that a proper goal for herself? Yes. Does it matter if it's interesting or not? No. One Piece has 700+ chapters and it is only half way done and you are complaining about what Nami does? You're one to talk considering how butthurt you like to get when someone accepts One Piece over this Naruto story. Mind you, Nami is not a character that shines in the lime light. She is on the side most of the time and she likes to act scared and let the stronger people handle the fighting. Nami doing something interesting? Yes, that will probably happen 3/4 towards the end of the manga when everyone has almost accomplished their dream.

After the timeskip Nami has increased he arsenal and she has gained better weather control. It's not a thing to get excited about, but it's not really the point, considering that she still has a proper goal for herself and she actually gives a damn about other people besides one boy that hardly ever gave any interest in her. Did you hear that? She is centered around a boy? That automatically puts her above Sakura when it comes to tolerance.

Instead of whining about Nami, how about you tell me what exactly is Sakura's goal or are you going to ignore this and keep picking on other characters about how they aren't interesting?

Otherwise Sakura is simply an average character in a conservative verse. Yes, she was added to be love interest of a supporting character Sasuke. Nothing exceptional about it but nothing to hate on her either. Why so much fuss on this scale?
Simple. It makes her character look stupid. It makes her character look pathetic, and all together it makes me cringe.
Why all the wank over this asset in her character? What's so appealing about a girl getting thirsty over a boy that treated her badly for over 90% of the manga? Please tell me. I want to know.

Yes, make up more excuses for Sakura's crappy character. I love it.

What an original attempt at sarcasm to cover the lack of any real reply to the point!!

Lucy is stale, but at least we know crap about her past, which you seem to miss when it comes to Sakura.
IN your own words Lucy is stale but you know her crap about her past and provides fan service... And yes we miss that with Sakura... yea whatever floats your boat..

Sakura is a main female and yet we have nothing regarding her history or her life story. That's not special. That's pathetic.
Poor you. She is paired with a side character that makes her a supporting character. As for history and life story, I wonder if lack of a tragic history makes Hermione a bad character ( to that extent) for you?

Yes, and you ignore the fact that comparing her to her generation was not my point, but comparing her to team 7, and the fact that she is apart of team 7 and trying to be at their level is laughable and ended in failure because it never happened.
No I actually think that side of hers and her efforts to keep up with her instead of being satisfied being a sandwich maker and nurse touches all the wrong buttons for most chauvinists who would rather like a stale character as long as it at least provides them fan service.
Call me when she can beat them in a fight.
Also call me when she will stop pouting about trying to catch up to them knowing that that will never happen.
If her only purpose for the team is to be an aid then maybe she should stop making idiotic promises that she can't keep.
What makes you think your opinions matter that much to me to bother with such an attempt. Both the guys ended up almost dead and had to be revived with Sage powers and bijjus. She healed herself without it. She is skilled and master in her field and that works for me. If it doesn't work for you it's your problem but you are beating a dead horse. So it's up to you how long you want to keep doing it.

FACT.
You have serious reading comprehension issues. What she would and she wouldn't do if things were different is not the issue here. Her word view was pretty small when she joined the team and he actions is inspired and growth is inspired by her team's situation. What's the big deal? Didn't Shikamaru's laziness and wake up call came after Sasuke rescue team's failure with many serious set backs to many under it?
Which means that she would have continued to be useless and weak while lusting over Sasuke like an annoying fangirl. FACT.
Exaggerations and bashing like this doesn't make your points any valid only render them weak and useless.
And yet you can't prove me wrong and still stuck in the world of Disney Land and that dark knight being distant and trying to save the useless girl from harm. Give me a break.
Prove you wrong about what? You are already in your own world talking in hyperbole and hateful attitude. Sakura saved him not the other way round by agreeing to marry a reformed criminal like him thus giving him a legit reason to be able to come back in Konoha. :p
If you can't see what actually happened and still find her love to be solid and understandable then I won't bother with this repetitive nonsense any further.
I see it her being empathetic to him. But it would be nice if you could stop your repetitive nonsensical hate for a character. It's not Kishi's writing which is compelling but the bashing which she receives as if she were a real person who did something personally to you guys makes me think she is more realistic than she seems. :p

Don't make up bs as if it makes sense for Sakura to fall for him. It makes you support crappy writing.
You think fan service and fleshed out character makes up for all the flaws in a story...That makes me question your definition of crappy writing.

And this is exactly the type of BS that I am referring to, as if you believe that it was okay for Sakura to throw herself at him without knowing a damn thing about him. He looked cool, so somehow this is a good enough reason to catch her attention right?
Being presentable is first step in getting positive attention from anyone-- it's a life lesson you better accept than act all high and mighty and scoff at the idea. EVeryone likes an eye candy otherwise Sasuke fan base would have been much smaller.
His clan's revenge was the only thing he cared about and getting stronger to meet his goals. An annoying girl that had no place for him was none of his business nor did it concern him, and yet she persisted like a dog who can't learn to stop barking and stay out of the house when he's hold to.
Which manga you are reading?
"She fell for him way before Shippuden?" That's not my point, sweety. Whether she fell in love with him or not is not the problem. It's why she fell in love with him and for what reasons. You can come up with all this nonsense as much as you like as to how it was cute or cool but at the end of the day she is just a weak girl who can't resist Uchiha DNA with long black hair. Deal with it and move on from your fantasies.
No , sweaty, at the end of the day it seems she stole your man from you with the kind of arguments you are coming up at the moment. Tone in down please.

Sakura was a victim of his hated hand and would have died twice, but that is fine so long as Sakura is happy then it's okay for her to love him, right?
Problem is that the writer didn't want Sasuke to die virgin.
And you call yourselves Sakura fans by trying to justify this pair? smh

When did I call myself a Sakura fan BTW? Source?

That's cute, because right after I remember him putting her in Genjutsu and then stating how he had no feelings for her, and how exactly should she love somebody like him. It's like Sasuke was speaking with logic for a moment there, but at the end it was all nullified because of shitty writing.
The same writing which created such a character like Sasuke.

Because you keep dodging what I'm saying with this irrelevant nonsense that I have already heard before.

And I am not repeating anything. Stating that Sasuke is trash talking Sakura and then stating that he is disregarding Sakura are two different things and two different moment that I was referring to.
Make up your mind - you say you are repeating it because I keep dodging it and then you claim you are not repeating anything. And then repeat that Sasuke is trash talking Sakura which you already said more than 3 times in this post already.
Don't make assumptions about what I am doing when I am not even doing it.
Ok let's make it a quizz - count how many times you are going to trash talk Sakura and how many times you mention Sasuke slighting her. I will let someone else count for I am not going to bother.
What was Sakura supposed to do? I don't know. How about you look at chapter 699 when she makes that stupid face and volunteers to leave her village to go with Sasuke then you can tell me what she shouldn't have did.
Aww did the forhake poke and Sasuke expression which was just for her and hidden from us that annoying to you?
It's not necessarily about the apology. It's about how weak she became without even questioning his motives despite what happened before. It's quite sad and it was an ugly site.
There is a time gap between the apology and that scene. Ugly lol

She can save a friend, but her loving him is where she is deemed a joke.
Don't really care about that. Their relationship worked more in Sasuke's favour so I see it as Kishi's persistent with forgiveness and moving on theme.

If everybody joins the ninja academy so why Sakura's is an exception not like everybody else? How, unlike everyone else, she is supposed to join it for Sasuke? What was she going to do if she didn't join it?

And before making personal attacks all the time about my delusion please provide the manga scan for all three scenarios.
-Naruto joined the ninja academy to become Hokage and to be acknowledged
-Sasuke joined the ninja academy to become stronger so he could one day kill his brother
-Sakura joined the ninja academy to chase after Sasuke and be with him
Yea you are repeating it again - as I said in just the quote above- relevant scan please to show she joined academy for Sasuke
.
Don't even play with me. You know damn well she never had a goal of caring about being a Shinobi and the fact that you can't even give me a scan of proving this speaks for itself.
Oh please first show the scan that she didn't care to become a shinobi.

Funny how you completely missed my point.
Funny you think you are making a point.
And writing long meaningless essays on how Sakura is a justifiable character is better? Yeah, okay.
At least I can write essay on the topic unlike you repeating the same sentence and argument punctuated by personal attacks to make the post look like an essay but having nothing to show for it.
What did she achieve?
>Bringing Sasuke back?
>Making Sasuke her love partner?
>Having a child with Sasuke?
All three and as a bonus she learned to be a great medic, earned Chhiyo's acknowledgement of Konoha's sincerity by sending a good medic to help Sand, an important step in relations with Sand, kept many shinobies alive during war and what not. Not to forget she helped keeping the main duo in the game. ( Keeping Naruto alive till Obito could put the bijju back, and helping Sasuke rescue from Sand dimension and helping in Kaguya sealing and then keeping them alive be stopping bleeding).
Funny how her only accomplishments come back to Sasuke, but please do try to ignore this.
I will. It's not like it's the first time you brought it up in this post.
1. @bold: And that's why she is a boring character. She can only do things if other characters are involved. She has no set motive by herself which makes her lame and boring. Like I already stated, her character is only moved by Sasuke and arguably Naruto's relevance.
Ywan
Nah it's you being more desperate than me to keep her in the center. I don't really care that she is a side character nor I care that females characters are secondary in this story. Pretty common theme so I am used to it and don't really bother with it.
So what, are we going to argue about Tenten and what her goals are? It's a shame when Tsunade, her own teacher has a much better story than her.
So? Tsunade spent her youth in wars and then wasting it in gambling and is single in her old age. Not a life many look forward too.
You're right. Let's let the mind of a 16 year old thirsty girl decide what is best for her love life. That would be the best option, no?
Well I am not her guardian anyway. If she is fit to die protecting others in war she sure is allowed to make her decisions of love herself.

>Shikamaru is the assistant of the 7th Hokage. He also had his development after his sensei died and he proved how mature he had gotten
Did he took admission in academy with that aim? Sakura had development without anyone dying. Should I be disappointed?
>Gai is disabled but he always wanted what was best for Lee and he is one of the best Taijutsu masters in the manga
When did this 'always' start? Before or after meeting Lee? Sakura is one of the best medics. I don't see the point of bringing all this up.
>Kakashi is practically oblivious but we know that he was there to mentor his students and to help Obito(partially)
So what he taught to Sakura and how much role he played in her in mentoring her? Obito was the guy with the goal and a dream and the one who helped Kakashi...
Would you like to know what truly matters for Tenten? Would you like to know what truly matters for Ino? Wold you like to know what truly matters for Kiba?
Nah just Itachi.
Ask Kishi if you want to know.
He told me what I was interested in.

Only person hurt here is you "sweaty" that someone mentioned OP and was not tripping with excitement. She was the third one to join SH and had a whole arc for herself. So she is as much a main character as Sakura is if not more.
And today she is below Usop. Her climatact was made by him and her fights are either tailor made for her - meaning she fights only with female characters with right abilities to enable her to score or she remains in the BG.

She has to have a goal since every SH has one. But she has been on the sidelines on regular basis. Robin is older and gets more footage just like Tsunade gets it.
That automatically puts her above Sakura when it comes to tolerance .
Sakura had increased arsenal after time skip. What's the big deal? And not being in love with one character doesn't reduce or increase anyone 's worth for me. Sanji groping her breasts would only look a lot more cheap if she was.
Instead of whining about Nami, how about you tell me what exactly is Sakura's goal or are you going to ignore this and keep picking on other characters about how they aren't interesting?
You really need to read more books and understand the writing better on your own. thread topic brought another character and then you brought in Lucy and now you are complaining that I returned the favour?

Simple. It makes her character look stupid. It makes her character look pathetic, and all together it makes me cringe.
Why all the wank over this asset in her character? What's so appealing about a girl getting thirsty over a boy that treated her badly for over 90% of the manga? Please tell me. I want to know.
Nah you don't. You only want people to agree with you else to flame and insult them. Otherwise those who find it appealing have already posted their opinions all over the forum man times and you would have moved on from that point whether you agreed or not.

What an original attempt at sarcasm to cover the lack of any real reply to the point!!
It was definitely a real reply. Only someone who resumes to acknowledge this character as anything but crappy doesn't have the real reply. That would be you.

Sakura doesn't hold the feats for her position so she is a badly written character by default. Understand?

IN your own words Lucy is stale but you know her crap about her past and provides fan service... And yes we miss that with Sakura... yea whatever floats your boat..
Sakura doesn't even have a story so she already failed at being a good written character. Does that hurt you?

She doesn't even deserve the title of a main female character. She is better off being on the same boat as Hinata, and even with Hinata she has a past to tell about that made her resolve much more interesting. Can't say the same for Sakura. Does that still hurt you or should I just stop speaking?

Poor you. She is paired with a side character that makes her a supporting character. As for history and life story, I wonder if lack of a tragic history makes Hermione a bad character ( to that extent) for you?
I don't care about Harry Potter so that doesn't matter to me.

You can keep on trying to evade Sakura's mysterious past but that won't make anything better. She will always be a boring female with nothing going for her.

If you want to bring in other side characters with no story then you can save it. That's just a failed attempt at trying to cover up for something because you can't even defend it, so you have to drag down lesser people to make your side look better when in fact it doesn't.

As you say. Poor you.

No I actually think that side of hers and her efforts to keep up with her instead of being satisfied being a sandwich maker and nurse touches all the wrong buttons for most chauvinists who would rather like a stale character as long as it at least provides them fan service.
And she never caught up to them. Poor her.

Maybe for the same reason why most of your asinine opinions don't matter to me, and yet I am still here arguing with them. Don't get so full of yourself little lady. It's not like your opinion holds much weight anyway.

Sasuke and Naruto were fighting on the front lines with all they had while Sakura was sitting in the background healing people and irrelevant fodders. You would do well to not even compare the two. I would like to see Sakura fight against Madara before he became the Sage and was whooping the Bijuu's asses, oh but I wonder if she could even heal herself after having her whole body crushed with Limbo.

She's fine in her own field? Yeah, that's dandy, and yet I still don't give a rats ass, and I already know that so stop repeating it, but for some reason you insist on praising this as if it matters. She's a good medical ninja? Yeah okay. Make her the best medical ninja then. I seriously don't care. That still doesn't negate her bland stance as a character.

Obviously it would be good to you since you like to harp on this so much, but you fail to see how less fleshed out she is compared to others, and her position should be held on a much higher scale but at the end it is not. Go figure of why I am even arguing this. Maybe because I can actually look at flaws in a character that I like.

Reading comprehension issues? Is that what you say when you get irritated because I have a point and you don't? Her "world view" when she joined the team was boys. Speaks volumes for how atrocious her character is, doesn't it?

Shikamaru's laziness was never a problem and he was not useless for the entirety of the series nor did he harp on something so stupid like love affairs.

Did she, or did she not decide to get stronger only AFTER Sasuke left the village? Did she, or did she not have this thought or resolve of getting stronger when Sasuke was still in the village? Answer my questions because you seem to be lost or just dodging this point because it doesn't work for you. Her resolve of training under Tsunade only sparked after Sasuke realized what his true calling was. Am I wrong or do you want to sit there and play stupid?

Again, if you seriously believe that Sakura decided to train for her own strength then you are wrong. Sakura went to Tsunade to help Naruto bring Sasuke back and so she wouldn't be a burden on that quest. AGAIN, it goes back to Sasuke influence. which AGAIN relates to Sasuke.

Reading comprehension? Actually read the manga and UNDERSTAND it before telling someone they have reading comprehension.

Exaggerations and bashing like this doesn't make your points any valid only render them weak and useless.
And you still failed to prove me wrong which makes your point even more useless than mine. Was her resolve to get stronger while Sasuke was in the village? Did she are about training when Sasuke stayed?

Good job at proving me right.

Prove you wrong about what? You are already in your own world talking in hyperbole and hateful attitude. Sakura saved him not the other way round by agreeing to marry a reformed criminal like him thus giving him a legit reason to be able to come back in Konoha. :p
I tell it like it is, so don't be so sensitive. I'm not here to act cheerful or care for your feelings. I'm just stating what I have saw and what I think.

Most of the interactions between Sasuke and Sakura were hardly adequate. Don't try to justify this as if it was well developed or if Sakura had any right. She decided to marry a criminal? That line of sight right there already makes her messed up in the head, and the fact that he told her off many times and had many negative impacts on her life speaks volumes for the little respect that she even has.

I see it her being empathetic to him. But it would be nice if you could stop your repetitive nonsensical hate for a character. It's not Kishi's writing which is compelling but the bashing which she receives as if she were a real person who did something personally to you guys makes me think she is more realistic than she seems. :p
Empathetic? So caring about how he feels towards her in the middle of a war is empathetic? I believe the words you are looking for is mentally challenged. I'm sorry if you accept this as a good quality but in my eyes it is nothing but pathetic. A man should not have that much influence on her life, especially when they have more important things at stake.

Nonsensical hate? You mean like your nonsensical hate for One Piece or how you like to downplay HxH when it is compared to Naruto? Yeah okay.

Nonsensical is not the correct word to be used here because it makes perfect sense for my distaste for her standing in the story, and it is typically known for the female gender to get attached to this character so I won't bother explaining when I have already given a good view in my previous posts.

You feel the need to try and defend something that doesn't have much worth is where it is questionable. Sakura isn't real, but the fact that you bring this up is more reason to believe that you only support Sakura because she resembles yourself or someone else in real life which is boring in a male dominated Shounen.

You think fan service and fleshed out character makes up for all the flaws in a story...That makes me question your definition of crappy writing.
The foundation of a character is built upon where they came from and what their background consists of. Nami and Lucy are not characters that are deemed worthy to talk about in high praise, but at least we had a proper introduction of their past of how they ended up or what they went through. Especially Nami, who had a tragic past and arguably one of the best written stories in the Strawhats.

So I honestly don't care what you find in good writing or a good written character considering you like to downplay Nami's character all because of her breasts, which makes you the desperate candidate, not me. If you actually bother to look past her chest and realize that Nami has been through a lot and not just some middle school drama over "my forehead size" or fighting for a boy then you would realize that your devotion to Sakura's conviction is dismissed.

And no, just being apart of fanservise is not my definition of a good written character. I just prefer to see where someone came from and how they ended up the way they did as opposed to someone who just wants to live in the moment and become thirsty for no good reason. Congratulations, you have opened my eyes to yet another reason for Sakura's lack of character.

Being presentable is first step in getting positive attention from anyone-- it's a life lesson you better accept than act all high and mighty and scoff at the idea. EVeryone likes an eye candy otherwise Sasuke fan base would have been much smaller.
I don't consider Sasuke fans to be that shallow and the fact that Naruto has as just as much fans as Sasuke nullifies your theory.

Which manga you are reading?
A story called Naruto. Ever heard of it?

No , sweaty, at the end of the day it seems she stole your man from you with the kind of arguments you are coming up at the moment. Tone in down please.
First of all, learn to spell *sweetie, alright?
And second, your smartass remarks will not prove anything here.
The reason why Kishi didn't have a reason for her to fall for him is exactly why this pairing is trash. You trying to justify it makes it even more than trash.

Problem is that the writer didn't want Sasuke to die virgin.
Yeah, and what better way than to have a persistent little girl become his *** toy for future Uchiha children. How wonderful.

When did I call myself a Sakura fan BTW? Source?
So now you're not even a Sakura fan? When will the trolling stop?

The same writing which created such a character like Sasuke.
Sasuke's character was amazing. That is not part of the shitty writing.

Cute how you like to turn this around as if it will make me jump.

Make up your mind - you say you are repeating it because I keep dodging it and then you claim you are not repeating anything. And then repeat that Sasuke is trash talking Sakura which you already said more than 3 times in this post already.
Then stop dodging or I won't have to repeat myself. It's not that hard.

Ok let's make it a quizz - count how many times you are going to trash talk Sakura and how many times you mention Sasuke slighting her. I will let someone else count for I am not going to bother.
If you're not going to bother then while should I?

Aww did the forhake poke and Sasuke expression which was just for her and hidden from us that annoying to you?
Aww, are you still lost and can't do anything but make up assumptions?

The fault wasn't Sasuke. In fact it had nothing to do with Sasuke.
The fault was .

Sasuke poking Sakura in the forehead is not the issue and I don't mind that. His smile that he gave as well, it's not a big deal.

It takes two people to make a relationship, so Sasuke is not by himself, so it's a shame when only one person can make a relationship turn to shit. Sakura turning good at the end was to be expected but the time frame was not. It could have been done better.

Sakura was too thirsty to think. She didn't care about anything of the past actions or what he did. An apology was all that was needed for her to go back to fangirl mode again and even volunteer to travel with him. Boy how obvious does this have to be for people to realize how idiotic this was?

There is a time gap between the apology and that scene. Ugly lol
Not enough reason.

Don't really care about that. Their relationship worked more in Sasuke's favour so I see it as Kishi's persistent with forgiveness and moving on theme.
And that's why his theme is stupid.

How far does one have to go for one to not forgive someone in this manga? Sakura looks retarded forgiving Sasuke and falling in love with him still.

If everybody joins the ninja academy so why Sakura's is an exception not like everybody else? How, unlike everyone else, she is supposed to join it for Sasuke? What was she going to do if she didn't join it?
Because this isn't about everybody else and I wish you would stop bringing in everybody else like I give a damn about everybody else. We are talking about why Sakura joined the ninja academy and what her goals were while being in the ninja academy.

Everyone that joined the ninja academy wasn't thinking about boys and they actually cared about being a ninja with the exception of Ino. The only reason why Sakura wanted to join was to be closer to Sasuke and that is why she had no choice but to join. If she didn't join then her thirst would have been over, which means bye bye Sasuke kun. Understand?

And before making personal attacks all the time about my delusion please provide the manga scan for all three scenarios.
How about you read chapter 4 over again of when team 7 is explaining the goals that they have for themselves and then come back to me. Sakura explicitly states that her goal is to be with Sasuke. That is why she joined. It's not that hard to put 2 and 2 together, but it must be for you I guess.

Yea you are repeating it again - as I said in just the quote above- relevant scan please to show she joined academy for Sasuke
Stated above. Don't feel like digging for scans because you are too lazy to read chapter 4 and 3, while trying to act like that wasn't her primary goal in the academy. That's laughable.

Oh please first show the scan that she didn't care to become a shinobi.
Because she never said it. Duh!

But she has said multiple times how Sasuke is what will drive her forward in the academy.

Funny you think you are making a point.
Funny you think you ever had a point and can't even keep up with mine.

Maybe I should speak a little slower for you to understand me.

At least I can write essay on the topic unlike you repeating the same sentence and argument punctuated by personal attacks to make the post look like an essay but having nothing to show for it.
Your words are nothing more than butthurt talk from someone who can't accept Sakura's flaws and tries to justify every single little thing.

Your words are practically meaningless. The stuff you are trying to cover up just makes you look foolish.

She learned to be a great medic? Yes, please tell me why she wanted to become a medic and get stronger in the first place. You think that was her goal from the beginning? That's cute.
Earning Chiyo's acknowledgement? Yeah, that's cute.
Keeping people alive in the war? Yeah, that is just another bullet under being a medic and I don't remember Sakura healing Shikamaru to full health but do go on about that.
Keeping Naruto alive? Yes another feat from being a medic.
Rescuing Sasuke? Yes, another feat from being a medic.

Congratulations, most of your points fall back to her being a medic, and the sad thing is that you can't even name more than 5 things that she did, but I can pull out Naruto and Sasuke and name 25. Mad?

I will. It's not like it's the first time you brought it up in this post.
Proving my point? Good job.

Yes, you are starting to bore me.

Nah it's you being more desperate than me to keep her in the center. I don't really care that she is a side character nor I care that females characters are secondary in this story. Pretty common theme so I am used to it and don't really bother with it.
You don't care that she is a side character because that is the only place where you can place her. Congratulations for proving my point again.
No backstory?
No history of her parents?
No depth?

Yeah, what an awesome character you have there for someone so "important" to the story. *laughs*

So? Tsunade spent her youth in wars and then wasting it in gambling and is single in her old age. Not a life many look forward too.

Well I am not her guardian anyway. If she is fit to die protecting others in war she sure is allowed to make her decisions of love herself.

Did he took admission in academy with that aim? Sakura had development without anyone dying. Should I be disappointed?

When did this 'always' start? Before or after meeting Lee? Sakura is one of the best medics. I don't see the point of bringing all this up.

So what he taught to Sakura and how much role he played in her in mentoring her? Obito was the guy with the goal and a dream and the one who helped Kakashi...

Nah just Itachi.

He told me what I was interested in.
Trying to ignore that Tsunade is better written than Sakura? That's cute just like most of your arguments.

Sakura had increased arsenal after time skip. What's the big deal? And not being in love with one character doesn't reduce or increase anyone 's worth for me. Sanji groping her breasts would only look a lot more cheap if she was.

You really need to read more books and understand the writing better on your own. thread topic brought another character and then you brought in Lucy and now you are complaining that I returned the favour?

Nah you don't. You only want people to agree with you else to flame and insult them. Otherwise those who find it appealing have already posted their opinions all over the forum man times and you would have moved on from that point whether you agreed or not.
I see you still can't spell *sweetie.

Did I hit a nerve with the One Piece thing? It's not my problem if some people prefer One Piece over Naruto and you can't deal with it.

I don't care if people agree with me or not. It gets very irritating of having to read this garbage that you think is legit. That's where I want to interpret my own thoughts.

The rest is just you going on a tangent and trying something that cannot be justified. Nami has a great past. Sakura does not. Does that bother you?

It looks like it does.

It was definitely a real reply. Only someone who resumes to acknowledge this character as anything but crappy doesn't have the real reply. That would be you.

Sakura doesn't hold the feats for her position so she is a badly written character by default. Understand?

Sakura doesn't even have a story so she already failed at being a good written character. Does that hurt you?

She doesn't even deserve the title of a main female character. She is better off being on the same boat as Hinata, and even with Hinata she has a past to tell about that made her resolve much more interesting. Can't say the same for Sakura. Does that still hurt you or should I just stop speaking?

I don't care about Harry Potter so that doesn't matter to me.

You can keep on trying to evade Sakura's mysterious past but that won't make anything better. She will always be a boring female with nothing going for her.

If you want to bring in other side characters with no story then you can save it. That's just a failed attempt at trying to cover up for something because you can't even defend it, so you have to drag down lesser people to make your side look better when in fact it doesn't.

As you say. Poor you.

And she never caught up to them. Poor her.

And you still failed to prove me wrong which makes your point even more useless than mine. Was her resolve to get stronger while Sasuke was in the village? Did she are about training when Sasuke stayed?

Good job at proving me right.

I don't consider Sasuke fans to be that shallow and the fact that Naruto has as just as much fans as Sasuke nullifies your theory.

A story called Naruto. Ever heard of it?

First of all, learn to spell *sweetie, alright?
And second, your smartass remarks will not prove anything here.
The reason why Kishi didn't have a reason for her to fall for him is exactly why this pairing is trash. You trying to justify it makes it even more than trash.

Yeah, and what better way than to have a persistent little girl become his *** toy for future Uchiha children. How wonderful.

So now you're not even a Sakura fan? When will the trolling stop?

Sasuke's character was amazing. That is not part of the shitty writing.

Cute how you like to turn this around as if it will make me jump.

Then stop dodging or I won't have to repeat myself. It's not that hard.

If you're not going to bother then while should I?

Not enough reason.

And that's why his theme is stupid.

How far does one have to go for one to not forgive someone in this manga? Sakura looks retarded forgiving Sasuke and falling in love with him still.

Understand?

How about you read chapter 4 over again of when team 7 is explaining the goals that they have for themselves and then come back to me. Sakura explicitly states that her goal is to be with Sasuke. That is why she joined. It's not that hard to put 2 and 2 together, but it must be for you I guess.

Stated above. Don't feel like digging for scans because you are too lazy to read chapter 4 and 3, while trying to act like that wasn't her primary goal in the academy. That's laughable.

Because she never said it. Duh!

But she has said multiple times how Sasuke is what will drive her forward in the academy.

Funny you think you ever had a point and can't even keep up with mine.

Maybe I should speak a little slower for you to understand me.

Your words are nothing more than butthurt talk from someone who can't accept Sakura's flaws and tries to justify every single little thing.

Your words are practically meaningless. The stuff you are trying to cover up just makes you look foolish.

Mad?

Proving my point? Good job.

Yes, you are starting to bore me.

You don't care that she is a side character because that is the only place where you can place her. Congratulations for proving my point again.

I see a lot of random garbage and attempts to belittle me personally or bashing Sakura but no scan for the statement you posted over and over nor any other specific reference to a panel - that Sakura joined ninja academy to follow Sasuke not because she wanted to make life as a ninja like others in the academy.

I take it that you are just all talk and flame and nothing to back up. That settles it. Thanks for proving my theory that Sakura basher are simply too blinded by their personal hate to be objective and keep it logical or bring specific facts on the table. ^_^

How about you quit being a baby?Reading in between lines doesn't mean making up facts. Students try to sit beside a friend or someone they like and hope to make friends all the time. How does it translate into them joining the school for that person unless there is something to back that hypothesis?

She was already a shinobi by that time. A genin but still a shinobi.

You're incompetent and a waste of my time.
she clearly claims that her goal is Sasuke and that her dream is to be with him. Nowhere does it state that she cared about anything else of relevance and she made no other dreams while becoming a Genin.

she even makes it clear that if she fails the bell test then she will be separated from Sasuke. What does that tell you? It tells you that she was only interested in becoming a ninja for Sasuke and to be near him. It doesn't take a genius to understand this.

No where in chapter 3 states that.

If anything sakura joined the academy to be stronger than ino. They were rivals
Same as above. Read chapter 4.

Bashing is not allowed- neither towards other members nor the manga characters. No one asked you to waste your time either. You are doing this by your own free will and cannot seem to stop yourself on both counts- doesn't sound very competent to me.

Just because I have been tolerant for far too long it doesn't mean I will keep putting up with your trash talk. Learn to keep the forum rules in mind. And no do not whine if you get infracted for such posts.

Same as above. Read chapter 4.
Yeah normal kids who don't have any particular ambition or motivation at a young age are often talk like that. She still was the one to get all the questions right in her chunin exam in her team and still had best chakra control out of three as stated by Kakashi in Zabuza arc. So she was putting in her effort on that career path- that's reading between the lines. ^^

She was already a shinobi and took that part and progress on that route for granted. She obviously had no particular aim like to be a hokage or avenging her family so why should say that? Whatever her motivation be she gradually progresses to make more definite choices to chose her role like getting an apprenticeship with Tusnade. Her character doesn't remain static. Kakashi himself was somewhat like that only. Not the love part but does he have any particular dream? No. Does Ino or Shikamaru have any lofty ambition? No. Even Itachi only kept trying to keep peace by and large and work on the mission he was given. His tiny goal is to help Konoha as long as he can and to die by hand of his brother to absolve his guilt and giving his brother a big boost in power and rep back home.

Naruto is not a story of everyone getting their calling. What part of theme driven story is not clear to you? Sakura was never that high in importance in story of Naruto and the theme of the manga.
Purpose of the character is to complete the team 7, not to add one more complication in the mix to handle. You are disappointed because you have unrealistic expectations in this scenario.

Not gonna bother with this stupid discussion anymore. Continue to be butthurt and give me meaningless infractions because you can't prove your own point.
I agree with discussion being stupid, given one side can only bash and flame and when asked to provide facts asks others to read "between the lines" and reach the same conclusion as him, believing his extremist version is the only valid one. For the second sentence- Says the guy who has been overreacting through out the discussion and flaming. It's not first time I had to repeatedly remind you that you were flaming but you kept spurring on.

Still waiting for people to tell me why Orihime is a better character than Sakura... Or why Hinata is better than Sakura for that matter.
Because there is not much difference between them all, just personal likings for a certain "type"?

Hinata comes of better because she is more polite and less aggressive, has a stamp of heiress and admires the hero, along with having super eyes. Most of the check box for general likability are ticked. And she is set against Naruto. They are the primary pairing. Small difference but Sakura mostly gained haters early on because of her aggressiveness.

Few heroines are more interesting than guys in shows aimed for Teenagers. Shonens or even cartoons are written and made with specific audience in mind and commercial advantages.

SMITH: So you can sell them T-shirts if they don't -- A: I disagree, I think girls buy toys as well, I mean not as many as ****ing boys do, but, B: sell them something else, man! Don't be lazy and be like, 'well I can't sell a girl a toy.' Sell 'em a T-shirt, man, sell them ****ing umbrella with the ****ing character on it, something like that. But if it's not a toy, there's something else you could sell 'em! Like, just because you can't figure out your job, don't kill chances of, like, something that's gonna reach an audi -- that's just so self-defeating, when people go, like... these are the same ****ers who go, like, "Oh, girls don't read comics, girls aren't into comics." It's all self-fulfilling prophecies. They just make it that way, by going like, "I can't sell 'em a toy, what's the point?"

DINI: That's the thing, you know I hate being Mr. Sour Grapes here, but I'll just lay it on the line: that's the thing that got us cancelled on Tower Prep, honest-to-God was, like, "We need boys, but we need girls right there, right one step behind the boys" -- this is the network talking -- "one step behind the boys, not as smart as the boys, not as interesting as the boys, but right there." And then we began writing stories that got into the two girls' back stories, and they were really interesting. And suddenly we had families and girls watching, and girls really became a big part of our audience, in sort of like they picked up that Harry Potter type of serialized way, which is what The Batman and [indistinct]'s really gonna kill. But, the Cartoon Network was saying, '****, no, we want the boys' action, it's boys' action, this goofy boy humor we've gotta get that in there. And we can't -- and I'd say, but look at the numbers, we've got parents watching, with the families, and then when you break it down -- "Yeah, but the -- so many -- we've got too many girls. We need more boys."

SMITH: That's heart-breaking.

DINI: And then that's why they cancelled us, and they put on a show called Level Up, which is, you know, goofy nerds fighting CG monsters. It's like, "We don't want the girls because the girls won't buy toys." We had a whole merchandise line for Tower Prep that they shitcanned before it ever got off the launching pad, because it's like, "Boys, boys, boys. Boys buy the little spinny tops, they but the action figures, girls buy princesses, we're not selling princesses."
I had read another article of similar nature but unfortunately didn't saved that link. But it's pretty true if you pay attention to shows of this kind. There maybe a few well written characters now and then but they will only get a chapter or an arc to shine and then will end up in background and not steal the stage from their male counterparts on a more regular basis. Or suffer some major scaling down to bring the focus back to the male characters.

The logic is simple- Girls watch shows meant for boys but boys don't watch shows meant for girls that much. And boys buy the merchandise more than girls. So a show which gets more male audience is likely to earn more.

Some experimentation was done in Legend of Kora - by letting a female be the lead but she ended up a lesbian. No guy had to get in serious long relationship to test out if they could deal to play a second fiddle to the lead girl and ultimately it catered to most common male fantasy of girl on girl action. :|

The books which are not aiming to sell merchandise to that extent or the manga targeted at adults often give better deal to female characters.
