kishi never told the story behind most of the things he introduced in the manga
he had to make an army of the people he should of told us about earlier in the manga and even had characters give us a brief description about them

Then the rest are filled with giant ants, scorpions, raiders, and Protectrons. Oh, and Ghouls. Don't forgot them Ghouls.

Yeah, there should have been 2 or so arcs more after the pain arc to have build up to the war, instead of just rushing into it with no tension. Would've also provided more development to other chars.
