You know... those coincidences that seems too good to be true.
I’ll start first with a recent one:
I have another coincidental story about textbook to share, but this happened to a great mate of mine and I don’t think you like to hear another textbook-related story. Plus, I’m quite tired right now, so I’ll pass.
I’ll start first with a recent one:
This morning, I was heading to my old uni to meet up with a buyer of one of my textbooks. We were to meet up in front of the library just before 12pm. However, the bus that I wanted to travel on didn’t arrive for some reason, so I told her that she may have to wait until 12:15pm. She replied by saying it’s all good, since she is running late too. But as time flew by, I texted her the same message, saying I will be even more late than before. At this point, I was ****ing pissed.
Two scheduled buses didn’t arrive. One bus pass by with a “Not in service” board despite having passengers inside... and there was no standing passengers i.e. it wasn’t full. I was force to wait for forty minutes, and knowing that I have a textbook to deliver at a campus & a lecture to attend at another campus (afterwards), it drove me nuts. Not just myself, but those around me, who were waiting for the same bus, were showing signs of frustration (e.g. sighing) too. This sort of incident never happened before; the bus usually arrives every 10 minutes since it’s a popular T-way commuters regularly use.
Anyway, when our bus finally arrived, I felt a great sense of relief. However, this bus was force to stop at all stations (until it was full), and each stop had more boarding passengers than usual, as everyone ahead was affected by the delay too. This delayed my arrival even more, and every single minute of delay counts as I need to transfer to other modes of transport to get to my old uni (all it takes is one minute to miss a train and that will delay everything even more). Eventually, I came to the conclusion that I’ll be there around 12:50pm. At that point, I figure she (the buyer) would be very annoyed, so I was considering to meet up at another day. To my surprise, she said she will be at the campus around that time too as her situation of being late was much worse than she initially thought.
I’m sure you know what this means by now...
That explains everything. Why she was also running late... why my arrival time kept matching hers after we change it...
I didn’t see her in the bus; I was sitting at the back and the bus was packed with seating & standing passengers. I ended up meeting her at a train station and selling my textbook there. I also gave her two of my textbooks for free (one of which was a textbook she was going to buy off from another seller today). They were collecting dust anyway so I just wanted to get rid of them ASAP. I gave her some advice too, in regards to the course she’s studying which I previously did but discontinued.
She told me the bus delay was due to an accident but that was all she knew and heard of. After all of this, we ended up having a laugh together over this “crazy” coincidence.

She was on the same bus.
