OT : Characters like Itachi are the kind of character that die mid way through the series accomplishing none of their goals. Itachi is comparable to Jiraiya; to compare Itachi to chatacters like Madara, Obito, Sasuke, Naruto is stupid and dim-witted, because those characters are leagues above Trashtachi.

Naruto's ideals were originally Obito's and were molded by a variety of people including Itachi. Itachi was only a small factor of Naruto. Saying that without Itachi there is no Naruto is ridiculous.

Obito, Kakashi, Jiraiya, and Iruka were the four most important figures in forging Naruto's path.
