EDIT: Apparently Oda has done this before :| I think Oda is suffering from the same thing as the author of The Breaker. Oda has a skeleton of how he wants OP to work out yet when he starts to flesh it out the series just takes more and more chapters. Not only that, but Oda also is a workaholic that always comes up with new ideas so who knows how long OP might last.

I don't remember him saying that himself, but i think ppl were just saying at that time (right after the timeskip) that now they are looking towards the second half of the series since the first half took 10 years

Oda wants to do a mech manga after one piece. So yea. He is gonna stop soon and enjoy himself a new manga.

He really should just retire. This would be a three decade long great manga (If not the greatest) and I don't really think its good for oda's health.
