In this thread, I'll be comparing NOT League to Dota2, but Riot games (I mean "game").
There are some serious differences within the two companies.
1) Almost all of the riot execs go by gamer names. Sure, the original dota devs go by eul and icefrog, but the valve people are actual business men. THEIR pr guy is vince lombardi. THEIR ceo's email and reddit name is like GabeN Bellevue or something.
Valve has made a number of the highest critically acclaimed games of all time.
Valve also has the biggest game distribution client in the world, making up the majority of all digital pc game sales
Valve has conferences with other game devs to make pc gaming better.
Valve is a member of Kronos and is helping create a new api to compete with directx
Valve has their own operating system. Their own controller. Their own vr tech.
Valve is the future of pc gaming
valve was named by forbes as the biggest profiting company per employee in the world.
Valve has just over 300 employees. Riot has 1000 just for league and its still a buggy mess.
Gabe newell is a billionaire.
Riot is just a bunch of gamers way over their heads.
There is no contest.
