saskue smarter than shikamaru

is shikamaru smarter than saskue in stragety/while battling a ninja my mind is thinking to hard on this i need your views to help me in my decision

Sasuke attacked all 5 kage's at the same time and he thought he could win. Said enough -_-

Saskuke has some nice tactics, however those of Shikamaru are way more complex and cover an entire battle, while Sasuke's are just tactics for the moment.

Shikamaru had an IQ of over 200 as stated by Asuma. And during each of his battles his ability to plan ahead even for the most outrageous outcomes has been highlighted.

yeah but can shikamaru think of a plan while hes in the heat of the battle. like what saskue did to danzo he let danzo though that he had one more eye left.

look on the fight with deidara. saskue think of all those moves mean while he was fighting deidara at the same time. and to spice it up more saskue said even if that plam never worked he had two more....at the same time while he was fighting. all episode we saw when shikamaru plan work was when he had time and place to think. so far the fight with tamira(gaara sis) he had some time to think. next is when they were chasing saskue after the sound four took him. shikamaru had time before they engage in battle to suggest a plan for them to run in, a certain pattern that will give them the advantage. and finally the fight against kakuzu and hidan. shikamaru took 2 whole days to think of a plan to fight the akatsuki. and we all saw that the plan didnt went so well as he thought.

BREDA, its like you reading ma mind, even though sasuke sooo smart, sooo genius, i have to hand it shikamaru, every time threats come to the village, they call shikamaru, soo weak, yet soo clever that he can actually put a worth clash against sasuke

but he did that before he kakashi and the ohters confronted them in battle..didnt he plan it all out....didnt he.

look at the time when saskue was fighting itachi and he puled the shuriken tricked at itachi..itachi himself said that he didnt saw that one coming.

but if someone sees what shikamaro plans are and disturbs it( because some of his plans tend to be in a chain, sequential like ) what will he do.

And sasuke started to think at least 3 moves ahead, so go and check again.

yes..i see your point here but he was not fighting at the same time. shikamaru always had time before fighting to make a plan if im not correct on this one then tell me in which episode or manga shikamaru was fighting and thinking of a plan at the same time like when saskue fighting deidara. saskue was always thinking of a plan one or two steps before every person he fought.

tristan be honest has shikamaru fought a battle he didnt plan for....saskue was totally unprepared when he fought deidra correct. every fight shikamaru had, he had time to think.even though saskue plan worked deidara asked him..what would you do if the plan failed...saskue replied saying "i had 2 more" how can a man think of three plans while constantly fighting his opponent ive never seen shikamaru done that.

Very good point, But even when he plans it does not always go perfect and he is still able to conjure up a totally different strategy on a slit second, I am not saying that sauke cannot do that but, i believe sasuke loses him composure sometimes for example when he was fighting the 5 kage's he was so filled with rage he stop using his brain.So u decide

there is truth in your saying..but on the other hand it was the only way for saskue to draw enough power to fight the kages ......correct?

Yes but we are focusing on intelligence and comparing sasuke and shikamaru it does not matter the fact still remains that he does not use his head all the time and relies on bruth strength to overcome certain battles but shikamaru only uses his brains because he does not have such a privilege as sasuke to use strength he uses his smart to win battles.:sasuke:

Shikamaru has already proven to be a better strategist than Sasuke. Shikamaru works the best if he has some time to make his strategy. However he has already proven he's also strong in making strategies on the moment.

There are 2 examples:

- Shikamaru vs Temari: Don't forget he originally had to fight the sound-ninja and on the spot he was said he would fight Temari, who has a different fighting style. He planned the entire battle just in a few moments.

- Shikamaru vs Kakuzu and Hidan the first battle: if Hidan wasn't immortal, he would have been killed due to Shikamaru's strategy. He thought of his strategy on the spot and almost killed an Akatsuki member with it, which he did afterwards by planning an entire battle.

Shikamaru is a way better strategist than Sasuke, both on short as in long terms. You also need to add that Sasuke has his Sharingan to bail him out, while Shikamaru's strongest offensive weapon is his shade-manipulation.
