I just started watching TTGL yesterday and so far i'm loving it. I'm still on episode 12 but i'm going to marathon the hell out of it today so I need another anime like TTGL.

Yeah it's a good anime. Kill la kill was made by the same producer or something, although they're a tad different.

Watched it and yeah they're kind of similar, even on animation haha, it was kind of cartonnish that we usually get but it's kind of unique.

I have watched old animes such as Great Teacher Onizuka so it's not that it's old, its when the anime is not good enough to pick my interest, that's why i dropped code geass.

FLCL=Fooly Cooly, awesome.
All are worth one watch, they are fun Mobile suit Gundam is an absolute classic.

If you want to diverge from Mecha action and into a bit deeper space operas try:-
1.Planetes
2.Space Brothers
3.Legend of the Galactic Heroes.

These aren't mecha series, so action will be less.
