I'm liking the arc alot, please don't let me down in this epi!

I didn't watch the episode but watched the preview and damn the arc is very ver very slow , i mean according to the preview nothing is happening there is no threat! And if in april canon returns then there is 4 episodes after next week , and i don't think in 4 episodes the threat will appear and get defeated! This arc is very boring and talks about lee more than anything

Edit: Just watched it and too much randomness , characterization is awful, just what i expect from filler, when i saw gai i just coudn't wait till he goes 8 gates , btw where the hell is Fuu??????? 2/5

2/5 worst episode of the arc so far, which is a shame because I was liking where the arc was going

The first half of the episode was just flashbacks, ugh. I laughed at how the academy students were throwing rocks at Shira and yet none of them seemed to be actually hitting him. I'm intrigued at how Sen said how her and Yome or whatever her name is used to play with Temari when they were younger? Including Daimaru that makes three filler characters she was friends with.

I can't care about the whole shared "we both trained to strengthen our taijutsu" thing at all because I feel like the idea of immediately forming a bond due to enduring similar hardships is already overused in this series as it is... All of the second half of the episode came off as feeling really forced. I don't understand why Lee and Shira are going to fight? Shouldn't they finish up this exam first and fight in the finals...? I guess this is hinting at something is going to happen then to prevent the finals from going as planned because they wouldn't get a fight in otherwise. Gaara seems to be doing something important in the preview so I guess we'll actually get somewhere next week. I really want to see the other teams though, particularly the InoSakuChou trio because I want to see how their teamwork plays out.

when you watch this filler if you skip 2 minutes watch 2 minutes then skip 2 again then watch 2 you don't feel like you missed anything. This arc is probably one of the most boring though, nothing has happened. Although this should be an entertaining filler arc it is not even showing the people we want to see just some random group of sand ninja and Neji, Lee and Tenten (which is the strongest hidden leaf squad.) not even fight for a scroll! This episode definitely got a 1 from me. I legit think it's a budget thing that episode looked crappy even in 1080p.

Shira is pointless. Next weeks episode doesn't look very promising either.

Also I think they're giving team guy too much focus. The other two teams need focus as well

The main problem I have with this filler is the pacing. Way too slow. They could've covered the starting of the inevitable Shira vs Lee taijutsu battle that I was looking forward too.
Plenty of character development in this episode.The main problem is though, that this is a filler. If this was canon, it would have been understandable. Heck, Shira has more character development and background than Tenten! She's a canon character, not him.
This episode boils down to just talking, basically. After it was over, I was like: "What? That's it?"
Logically, I think that Neji and Tenten should've advised Lee not to go all out in the second round itself against Shira. The preview showed him opening the gates, which has a great impact on his body. This could affect his abilities in the third round and his promotion to chunin. In a way, I get it, it is kind of understandable that Lee doesn't want his battle stolen away from him like last time. He's displaying the Will of Fire, but not the logic of a leader.
Well, I guess I could really care less now. A pure taijutsu battle should be interesting if it's animated well.
I hope it finishes in an episode, I want to get the plot moving!
+1 for the ending theme. It's one of my favorites: both song wise as well as conceptually.
(Anyone else felt nostalgic watching Naruto and Jiraiya eating ramen?)

1/5. Terrible pacing. Awful animation and artwork. Shira's a copy & paste of Lee. Rehashed flashbacks. Everybody just wants to sit around in a circle and play patty cake with their enemies. And now Shira and Lee are going to fight for no reason?

Also, did the anime forget how techniques work? Lee's opening his gates every two seconds, and Neji's 64 palms made me facepalm 64 times. Standing still and taking two guys out with one 64 palms? Really? -.-

This episode have piss poor animation& arts like seriously the way they used Neji 64 palm was ridiculous absurd seemingly he's hitting 2 guys at the same time and the pacing is slow due to the flashback we've seen countless times. Overall this episode gets a 3/5, even despite the flaws, I throughly enjoyed the perspective of Team Gai, they're my favorite Team squad and I can sympathize Lee& Shira character and Neji went ham like a Boss.
