Shouldn't the Uchiha massacre have started a ninja war itself?The Uchiha were reputed to be the strongest clan in Konoha,also in other nations and must have formed a big part of the village's ninja force in previous wars.Wouldn't their massacre have depleted the village's strength considerably less and provided a perfect opportunity for other villages to attack?

And before you say that only Sasuke,Itachi,Shisui,Madara,Izuna were the only Uchihas that were strong and that not all Uchihas awakened the sharingan..i have to disagree 100% Uchihas shown have awakened their sharingan and if they weren't super strong as a clan they wouldn't have the juice to take on the village head on in a coup,nor would the have been so reputed.

Once they(Sasuke & Itachi's parents, the coup's leaders) found out Itachi(idk how old he was, maybe 12) was on the Leaf's side, they had just given up.
It hints right there that the clan was no better than Itachi at the age of 12, and that the Leaf would be capable of taking on the Uchiha and spoiling their plans.

Which itself insists the Leaf wouldn't become complete fodders considering they'd still be able to neg-dif the Uchiha.
If you don't believe me, reread, then notice how they didn't even wanna put up a fight, for them they knew they stood 0 chance.

I didn't say they were solely scared of Itachi, did I?
I said Itachi had joined the Leaf's side, meaning the Leaf knew as well, meaning everyone of the Leaf would become play a role in the coup, EVERY, Hyuuga, Nara, Aburame, Kohaku, Inuzuka, Sarutobi, Yamanaka, and the fodder clans.

Basically they'd crush Uchiha, their strongest, with such ease, showing that the loss of them wouldn't have much of a drastic effect.

It isn't about Itachi being someone supreme, Itachi joining with Leaf meant all of Uchiha's secret info. has been relayed to Leaf and in that time of story, ANBU were capable of posing a threat and with Black Ops & Root working together, Uchiha had no chance...

I dont remember seeing Mikoto with an awakened Sharingan. I agree that it would have definately decreased their strength nd other nations probably considered it, but Senju are stil crazy strong plus they had alot of other clans that joined them by that point.

Why should it? Everybody thought a psychopath from the Uchiha itself killed them all. No reason for them to start a war.

Actually the Hyuuga clan is considered the backbone and vanguard of Konoha, not the Uchiha. The Uchiha were the police force while the Hyuuga were the soldiers. This may have been more politically motivated rather than based on strengths, but it doesn't change that it's the Hyuuga clan that gives other nations pause when attacking.

About Konoha not attacking the Uchiha, this was purely because of the 3rd Hokage not wanting to start a bloody war with them. He wanted to exhaust all peaceful measures before it came to civil war. Danzou didn't agree and went behind his back to send Itachi to clean it up.
