What's the best psychological anime you've ever seen? I just recently (meaning 2h ago) finished Serial Experiments Lain and I can say that I am totally mind****ed. Although I was reluctant at first, seeing as it is a 98 anime, I don't regret it.

what's Serial Experiments Lain about?

Ugh, kind of hard to explain in short. The main plot revolves around a shattering border between the Wired, which is a sum of all human communication, and the real world. It also touches subjects such as neglectful parenting, certain mental illnesses (dissociative disorders being the first that comes to mind). The most striking theme was of philosophical nature, making you think about existence from a different perspective. The story itself is not as important, but the anime provokes you to think. It is very interactive, kind of connecting to the watcher. I may not have explained it very well, but I definitely think it's gonna be an enjoyable experience for anyone who wants something thought provoking. Warning: It can be very confusing, especially if it's not being payed full, undivided attention to.

I have Lain on DVD but haven't watched it yet. I also have Texhnolyze and Haibane Renmei on DVD but haven't watched them either. lol Same with Ergo Proxy.

OT: Death Note, Death Billiards is looking very promising, Parasyte (maybe?). I started Monster like two months ago but didn't get very far. Idk why.
