The heck? Why do people even care? IDC how he died he's the second freaking kage who got killed by 20x ninjas or whatever. The ninja were probably anbu class ninja making 20 of them killing the second not so far fetched. I'm not getting into a full dispute about this because the way the second died has no relevance at all. Obviously highly skilled ninja killed him, the reason you care about the method so much is beyond me.

That's not even a valid reason. People will say stupid things all the time, heck take itachi base, totsuka blitz and yata gg your fave? People are going to talk about any character, 20 fodder could've been 20 ambu class ninja, tobiramaa is a sensory type so if he couldn't sense more ninjas coming then he's a bad sensory ninja (of his prestige), the fact that he got beat by 20 dides isn't even that bad, could be worse, you could get solo'd by black zetsu :leaf:

I think it's safe to say that he died the day he made Hiruzen hokage but we cannot say for certain how he died unless Kishi chooses to enlighten us eventually. We are left to infer that he died trying to buy his team time. I would have thought that the person or people who took out the 2nd hokage would have bragged about it so it would have been known. The possible alternative to that would be that he took them all out with him in order to keep the village safe.

Obviously that's only an inference.

Yu also seem to be forgetting. The prev gen of shinobi were bad azzes and trained killers the gen that came after were fodder


I assume this takes place after tobirama near death by kin and gin they killed the 2nd raikage. And almost killed tobirama he could have been tired an unseen wound low on chakra

Does it matter? He was still a hokage and pretty bad ass as shown in the war. He died fighting 20 elite (probably jounin) ninja. If someone still wants to dismiss him because of the cause of his death than they know nothing about the character. It was needed for plot progression.

Kishimoto said 20 people were behind him and went to stall them = no one is questioning it.

You claimed he only took on 20 and died by those 20 = no proof in the manga of your claim, something the thread is questioning.

Thread isn't about "when", its about "how" mate.

Minato died from the RDS
Hiruzen died from the RDS

Tobirama died from??
Hashirama died from ??

Both of their death is unknown. Only difference is we know when tobirama died, but not how he died. But for Hashirama we don't know the when or the how.

-Tobiramas death and subsequent power ups were due to kishis retcon in the shinobi war arc. That means he was shown in a far more powerful light than he had been previously. After all, you have to justify being the 2nd strongest from the clan that beat the mighty uchiha.

Also, the battle wouldn't have been that long considering the fighting style of Tobirama, which is normally FTG blitz followed by Edo Kamikaze attacks (as seen in the war arc)
