Tenseigans requirements?

I just watched the last movie and started wondering if otsutsuki chakra & a byakugan is needed. How Come all the otsutsuki didn't awaken the tenseigan since the byakugan seemed to be their kkg? Or is the tenseigan altar needed in the process?

Ootsutsuki's are terrible at passing down Dojutsu. Kaguya has Byakugan and Rinne Sharingan. Her kids have Rinnegan and Tenseigan. Hagoromo's decendants have Sharingan and Nothingan. Hamura's decendants have Byakugan and Literal Nothingan.

Actually hagoromo's descendants had special different types of eyes, such as the special dojutsu shown around the Narutoverse, such as the priestess dojutsu or ranmaru, etc. Hamura is pretty much correct.

Main branch hyuga eyes and okatsuki chakra. Toneri awaken the tenseigon with hinabi's eyes not a thousand okatsuki eyes. The other tenseigon is a weapon to destroy stuff using the okatsuki sealed eyes, it is not the dojutsu. Okatsuki are basically hamura's equivalent to the senju in terms of awakening the tenseigon.

Actually both the Ootsutsuki clan and the Hyuga clan were split into Main and Cadet Branch... To awaken the Tenseigan you need a main branch Ootsutsuki chakra (Toneri) mixed with main branch Hyuga Byakugan (Hanabi)

To get the tenseigan, you need a stockpile of Byakugans, Ootutsuki chakra, and a pure byakugan. The byakugan will then connect to the stockpile and draw power from it, becoming the tenseigan.
