This excludes Hashirama and Naruto, for obvious reasons.
The reason I'm making this thread is because I've seen posters flack, downplay, minimize, underestimate, and undermine Tsunade's ability and status as a kage and as a member of the Sannin left and right. Why do they do this?
The oher kage, and her Sannin counterparts, trump her in overall shinobi prowess, power, and skill. There's no getting around that. However, to say that Tsunade isn't kage level is rather outrageous when we consider her feats and prowess in medical ninjutsu, her intelligence, her strength, her durability, her reputation, her chakra reserves, Byakugō no Jutsu, and her relationship with Katsuyu. So saying that other shinobi are stronger than her isn't a good basis to argue against her title as a kage and as a Sannin. I would argue that she actually was a more fitting candidate for being Hokage than the likes of Jiraiya was. (the latter is still comfortably above her in power and skill, so lets not go overboard)
I think most knowledgable members of this forum know where I'm going with this, but I'll say it anyway. Replace Tsunade with Tobirama, Minato, Hiruzen, Jiraiya, Kakashi, any Mizukage that we've seen, any Kazekage that we've seen, any Raikage that we've seen, and any Tsuchikage that we've seen during Pain's invasion of Konoha, and at least 80% of the village's citizens and shinobi would have died on top of the village getting destroyed, and the latter happening is insignificant compared to the former by a wide margin. No, the Hiraishin users would not have been able to teleport Tendō before he shot off Shinra Tensei, sorry. No, the Tsuchikages would not have been able to vaporize him with jinton. Chō Shinra Tensei would have deflected any attempt.
The fact that Tsunade was healing the injured citizens through Katauyu already, and that she was able to save most of the inhabitants from getting killed from Shinra Tensei via Katsuyu, while still having the strength to stand up in front of Tendō is a massive feat in terms of chakra reserves. This feat shouldn't even be surprising either due to Tsunade's Senju/Uzumaki heritage.
The point is, Tsunade's not only comfortably kage level, but she's also one of the best kages in the NV due to her sheer prowess as a medic alone and her ability to fulfill the burdens of a kage, which include her ability to protect a village. So please don't spit mindless hate about a character you probably don't understand very well.
Edit: Seem like some people have trouble with reading comprehension here, so let me say again that Tsunade's one of the best kages in the NV in terms of fulfilling her duties as a kage and protecting a village, not in terms of skill or shinobi prowess (though she's still kage level anyway). This is basically the point I'm making in this thread. Comprende? Do I need to spell it out for people?
