Learning to make website theme

Hi, I'm the leader of a guild on SWTOR (star wars the old republic) its a pretty big guild and so on (If anyone has SWTOR , i would be honored to have you on my guild.). So I'm using Enjin as a hosting site for my guild site.

I am trying to learn to make website themes. Like designing them. And does anyone have any advice?

I have asked on other sites also, but wanted your guys' opinions also. So please let me know, idk where to start. X_X

Any programs i should know about? and so on.

You're better off posting this in the IT section. And look for a html-coding on google maybe ._. I forgot about all of this editing/developping/coding stuff.

If you're using a free hosting site then I'm sorry but they offer only predefined templates. If you wish to make your own site you'll have to start from scratch. For that you'll have to learn the basics of HTML and CSS and if you want a dynamic website you're gonna have to learn Java Script wich is quite complicated. In case you need things like chat, log in and other server side things you'll have to learn PHP as well.

oh no, i'm paying $8 dollars a month. It gives me the option to create a theme for the website, but idk how to create one.

Oh in that case learn html and css. You should know those two atleast. I never had premium on such site so idk the details.

Go to W3schools. They got you covered.

you either learn to code html and css but with that you will only able to create a static website. You can get ready made templates also there are programs for html building like wysiwyg html builders.

With 8$ you can buy cheap VPS and build website from scratch but that needs a bit of skill, if you have some geek friend you can ask his help.

Yea its basically a forum for gaming guilds. But i'm trying to edit the tabs and etc.

Yea i'm having an issue there. Like do i put in the photos and the CSS and etc. X_X confused like hell man. But now i have a guild mate who says he'll be working on getting a theme set for the website.

U dont need to do too much work bcz basic tags wnicn are required r only 15 imo for site building . Need any help in any coding feel free to ask. I know how to code .

I had many enjin forums in past but enjin is bad for site u as bigg guild i suggest u to use invisionfreesite

Ya thats right but u gota change skin etc add category and it will prodigy site for star wars game enjin is weak if u pay for ur site invision is best i tell ya
