By acing interviews like this one:

LOL this is probably one of the funniest videos I've ever watched.

"Oh yeah he bought the shoes"

"So are you going to let me know"

- LMAO I died at these parts.
Q: Do you guys think the interviewer/hiring manager overreacted?

I personally think he did. Sure, he's busy looking for excellent employees for his company and that there are other applicants out there who would want to be in this stage of the application (the interview), but the dude needs to chill a little and have a laugh. He has a point (that this is a waste of time for him) but I think he's being too serious about it. I guess that's what makes the whole prank funny, IMO.

I would feel extremely uncomfortable doing such a thing.

- I see that you go to university here?

''That's kinda bull. I don't even go to school.'' Lol

But the interviewer made a huge point though. Something as serious and potentially life altering (for the better) is being mocked with this prank. People do anything nowadays for fame and laughs. Especially the fame.

I've never applied for a job or worked. Is it that hard to get one?
No, but a lot of the time it is up to luck. There's a set amount of things you can say to try to stand out to someone you never met. Most of the time it's determined by some inside factor you cannot reasonably determine.

Sometimes, they just don't like the way you look. Sometimes you give a unique and unconventional but practical response and they love it, while to a different interviewer they may just want a cookie cutter response.

Assuming you make the all of the 'correct' answers, it's still 100% up to the interviewer. So it's not difficult, so much as it is random. Especially for your first job. Having a connection removes much of this random factor and is advised.
