I'll be there first to admit there's episodes of Naruto I haven't watched. Filler wise, I've watched the first few episodes of an Arc and realize that they have no relevance to the plot.
I've probably skipped a good 20-25 episodes. But much like the previous filler arc, this one serves as actual information filling. You can argue Canon/non-canon all you want, but all of us were curious about how everyone got to become chunnin and some Jounin. This actually fills in the plot that was part of Canon, just with stuff Kishi didn't have time to cover in the manga since there was a time skip.
Not to mention there's character development of Fuu who has been mostly a mystery since she's been introduced. And the refocus on the secondary characters that primarily have been ignored by pt 2 in general besides the occassional highlight.
I understand that we're missing out on some actual good parts of the war Arc but you have to hope they're working on making the last part of pt 2 memorable. The non filler parts of the end of pt 1 were done incredibly well for the most part so you only have to hope.
