I agree. This is an interesting thread with a lot of well constructed arguments, and it's definitely a subject I think about often. Obviously, the answer to this question is highly subjective, and I don't believe there is a single right answer. I like reading everyone's opinion on the matter, though, and I hope this discussion goes on.

Energy cannot be created nor destroyed; it can only transform to one form to another. There is no natural source of energy (e.g. kinetic energy in the form of wind) in the dimension that can be transformed into electrical energy, artificial light energy, and so on.

I think fossil fuel power plant is already exist to power up Konoha and other major cities

And also Obito not offering 1000 peoples to lived there at first, he make a promotion for certain amount of residents he need at first (100 peoples at first) as city system is still small and only able to support small amount of residents.

But overtime main city is developing and getting bigger, which mean Obito can promote more peoples to be Kamui city resident.

Yeah, I know. It's just it's troublesome to do so (he has to Kamui a lot of stuff Lol), and there's really no point in investing time in all of this when the people living in the Kamui dimension are highly dependent on resources located elsewhere. Might as well live at the same place where those natural resources came from, as they don't have to worry about the implications of living in a dimension without them.
