Well, we know that at least 3 dimensions exist beause we can move about in them. General relativity says there are 4 by adding time to the 3 spatial dimensions we are famiiar with. String theory says 10, and supergravity has 11.

But what are they? In another thread someone gave 1 definition which is that a dimension is a value that enables us to fix an event in spacetime (a more mathematically based definition of a space is "the minimum number of coordinates needed to specify every point within it"). But that is just a mathematical construct, it doesn't really say what dimensions are.

I don't know the answer. When you consider that the compactified dimensions of some theories are so ridiculously small that nothing can exist inside them except gravity, it makes a definition even harder.

If dimensions do exist, then can we compare it to Kamui world with the real Earth? (This was just an example on how dimensions really do look like in Narutoverse)

I am talking about the universe and the Earth. I've heard many theories that dimensions really do exist, however the question is where and how?

Would that depend on what theory u want to believe?

Albert Einstein.

Again. You said yourself that multiple theories have multiple dimensions far beyond the usual 3.
So asking us how many dimensions their are is entirely up to you based on the theory u want to believe in.

Well, three-dimensional space is a geometric three-parameter model of the physical universe (without considering time) in which all known matter exists.

We wouldn't be able to comprehend a 4th, 10th or 11th dimension. You should check this movie out to help you with this topic. Its a good movie to check out

First of all your completely misunderstanding what those dimensions mean. 2D and 3D just mean an added plane to the system. For example an 2D is an x-y plane based. Two variables that dictates the 'dimension'. We still use 2-D to understand concepts, even do calculations just in 2-D; for our world. 3-D is a three variable system; which lies in a x-y-z plane. We use 3-D planes more often, because that helps visualize and create more 'refined' definitions and calculations. 4-D and sp forth will have an added variable in the plane. And becomes more difficult to visualize. Those dimensions to have application to our world, but more theortical and conceptional. So dimensions do exist. What your talking about is also dimensions but not what thoze theories you stated are talking about. The theories that you talk about is the dimensions that I talk about. What you are talking about is new worlds, new realities, new existence of the current us but in a different 'time and space administration' with the possibilities of new characteristics of the us over here. Those are also called dimensions as well. Now dimensions that exist can be infinitely many. For example if you move your fingers, in the other dimension you might not move your fingers. In an other dimension you might move one. In an other dimensions you might move just 2. And it keeps on going. All the possibility and probabilities come into a play and based of that, thats the amount of dimensions that exist. See why there might be infinitely many? Most people like to dumb it down to an easier level so that people can understand. But the reality is that there might be infinitely many dimensions.

Is the movie good, AND can you explain more about the plot? (Don't spoil).

I think you will like this movie. It drags a little bit but if your really curious to get a better understanding of dimensions then this is the movie you are going to want to see. If gives almost all the possibilities there are for us to comprehend the difference between a 1st 2nd and 3rd dimension and why we can't comprehend a 4th, 5th and so on. We don't live in those planes and our minds and conscience can't grasp moving foward. It also speaks of evolution being able to continue onto the next plane (4th dimension). This movie has a whole bunch of information to give you so watch it little by little at a time to help understand it better.

Well, it was actually good explanations, thanks.. But next time I think you should divide your text into parapgraphs so it makes more easier to read.

From your thoughts, I think it might be true about the endless dimensions, but the question is can we travel through dimensions? Like for an example to another place.

yes they obviosly exist, according to how this universe follows the laws of physics and matter

but to find the other universe you need to go faster than the speed of light, and thats impossible
