Having finally come face to face with Demise, Revan had already clashed with him in the middle of the field as the two of them exchanged several blows between them, trying to over-power each other. Watching as this took place before him, Menma wasn't quite sure how to back Revan up as he continued holding his katana up high in front of himself, anticipating the slightest opening for him to strike. Backing off for a bit, Demise fired off a massive thunderstorm from the tips of his fingers straight at Revan, but having seen and been hit by this trick before, Revan was quick to block the incoming attempt as Demise finally halted his move, reaching for his lightsaber with his left hand once more.
"Not bad, not bad at all, Jedi. You seem to have come a long way since last time we fought."
"I wouldn't fall for the same move twice I assure you. Besides, I can't die as long as you are still standing, not until you have been brought to justice."
"Please, you Jedi always thinks so melodramatic. Justice, Peace, the greater good, all this crap only clouds your mind and prevents you from seeing the real light of the universe. You should embrace your feelings, not lock them away."
"You will not sway me, not at this stage. It ends tonight, right here, right now."
"You talk like you know the future, but you know nothing about it. The era of the Sith and Jedi is indeed coming to an end I guess, but something far more intriguing is about to begin, and we're at the center of it. That's the only thing that's 'right here, right now,' as you say... And that is all that really matter."
"What do you mean, Demise? Why have you come all the way here?? What is it that you seek out here on this far-away planet??"
Having a serious look on his face, Revan knew that even though he needed some answers, he had to be careful about how far he was willing to go to get them.
"You seek answer, purpose, yet you do not have what it takes to even begin to grasp it. What's happening here, what I'm trying to achieve, is on a far greater scale and of a much grander purpose than a simple-minded Jedi like you will ever come to understand. To understand the present, and to be able to grasp the events of the future, one must look to the past... The Past creates the Future, and only through attempting fate can we ever fulfill our destinies, Revan..."
Smiling back at him with a vicious grin on his well-hidden face, Demise seemed to be up to more than causing some minor damage, in fact, he seemed to be on a great quest that would shake the current flow of time to its very core and rip its foundation utterly apart.
"There is no future to look towards, Revan, everything has already fallen into place. That is why you must risk everything to change it, to prevent what will happen in order to be able to fully live life again. To alter the future and bend it according to your own will and desires... The universe will fall into a meager existence once our kind is gone. Ruled by the weak where everything reeks of utter silence and a peaceful boring existence... Fools can not, will not rule the future, it will have to be taken control over by a true Master of the Force... Someone like, Me."
"What are you on about?! Have you seen the future, Demise??!"
Holding his tongue for a few seconds as he walked over to Revan and Menma's right side, stopping about twelve meters or so away from them, Demise then turned towards them again before he continued.
"Partly yes... And the key to the future, is him..."
Suddenly pointing at Menma, Revan was just as surprised to hear this as Menma himself, but he quickly began to realize what Demise was on to.
"And you have brought him right before me, just as I had foreseen..."
"What are you up to Demise?! Answer me!!"
About to charge at him, Revan had to struggle to keep his ground, anticipating Demise's true plan to finally be revealed at long last.
"That man came from the future, through a wormhole of some sort. I'm sure you already know this, Revan, and it's not entirely coincidental that you have met with, taken interest in and brought this man along, is there? I bet you could sense it all along, but you weren't quite sure what or why??
Once he came through time, a disruption in the flow of time appeared. Some people would call this destiny, others would just look at it as a disturbance that causes dangerous holes in the timeline, something not to play around with and leave as much for nature to fix by itself as they can... I on the other hand, look at it as opportunity... No matter how he was able to get here, the fact that he is here is proof enough of time-travel, something which we have only dreamt of being possible for generations... Imagine the possibilities, Revan! Imagine what we can accomplish by traveling through time!"
"What do you know about me?! Do you know where I'm from??!"
Speaking up, Menma wasn't sure where to begin with his questions, but he sure as hell knew he wanted some answers, and that fast. If not as eagerly as Revan, then at least equally as determined as to finding out just exactly what was going on.
"You're surely not able to see the future Demise, I refuse to believe that... Even Master Hylia wasn't able to do so and she was one of the few who could do the most amazing things with the Force. Master Marek and I talked a lot about destiny and fate, being able to jump through time and change them... But he had never heard of anyone being able to read into the future at the scale you proclaim to be able to!! Even so, you still know all this information... How?"
"Like I said, simple-minded fools like you will never be able to grasp what I possess, my very own ability. However, the disturbance in the flow of time you created when you came here, Menma, also has its side-effects. The wormhole you came through has a time-delayed effect, meaning that another portal will be created in its shadows, a portal that will open where ever you decide to go once the time is right or the proper conditions are met. Just like that wormhole sent you here to the past, another one will yet again open up to the past and present itself, with the same gap of years between the present and the past that you went through to get here. Traveling to the past opens up a lot of opportunities, like I mentioned earlier, one of them is eternal life and the chance to change the future, forever... I believe the next portal will be opened here, and once it does..."
"I won't ever let you accomplish such an act while I'm still here! If you pull through with what you are planning, it will utterly destroy the foundation time has been built upon. The galaxy and all its living beings lives and souls from both present time and the past will be at stake!"
"That is exactly what I plan to do, Revan... This day will not mark the end of the Sith and the Jedi, it will open up a portal towards a future which will be much more glorious for the Sith than it ever was for the Jedi! The Sith will not only rule the galaxy, we will rule it forever with me as their eternal Emperor!!"
Bursting out in a dark evil and sinister laughter of untold dimensions, as he revealed the details of his scheme to them, Demise looked at Revan as he slowly removed the hood that was covering his head, revealing an old weary-looking and cruel face. Revan was shocked to hear Demise's full plan and the extent of it, and only now did he begin to understand how far Demise was willing to go to have his evil twisted ways. This was no longer just a mission to stop the last Dark Lord of the Sith, it was a mission to save the Galaxy and the entire flow of time as well. Looking at him, Revan instantly knew that he would have to go to every and all extents to stop him once and for all.
"Your evil twisted ways have been able to wreck havoc for far too long, Demise. I will stop you here and now, and make sure that the galaxy will have its long-awaited peace! It all ends here, tonight!"
Releasing a powerful shockwave by manipulating the Force and sending it Demise's way, Revan sought to catch him off guard while he still could, and not being able to foresee this, Demise was flung backwards with a mighty push.
"Able to foresee the future you said... I bet you didn't see that one coming, Demise..."
Landing on his back, Demise quickly used the Force as well as a large rock not far away from his position suddenly began gravitating in the air and went flying Revan's way, who in turn, barely managed to roll to the side to avoid getting hit. As he looked up again, he noticed another rock falling down on him from the ceiling above as he quickly got control over it and stopped it mid-air with his left hand, as the rock halted just inches away from crashing down on him. Gently tossing it on the ground with the flick of his hand, Revan then readied his sword again as he turned his attention towards Demise.
"You got to do better than that if you expect to defeat me..."
"Then, how about this..."
Picking up another rock by utilizing the Force, Demise sent it flying at Revan once more as Revan simply evaded it by jumping to the side. Looking up, he realized that Demise had tried to pull a smart one at him as two other rocks were already on their way towards Menma, who basically had no time to react and get away in time. Picking up the rock that Demise previously had sent at him, Revan sent it crashing into the first rock causing it to swing out of course, before jumping in between Menma and the last rock, splitting it in half with his sword as he did.
"That was too close..."
"Don't worry, I got your back Menma..."
"So you saw that one coming, huh..."
"Like I was going to let you do that, Demise..."
"Hah, the battle has only just begun... Prepare yourself, Revan!"
Leaping off, the two of them met in the middle of the cave once more as they exchanged several blows between them, even more fiercely this time as neither one of them manage to land a hit, only parrying the others attempts. Swinging their weapons both left and right as they moved vigilantly around on the ground, the two of them seemed to have got serious this time. Backing off for a bit, Demise aimed at one of the nearby torches lighting up the cave as he grabbed a hold onto it with the Force, sending it flying at Revan. Preparing his guard, Revan simply knocked it aside with his sword as he leaped in at Demise from above, trying to find an opening. Getting his guard up, Demise blocked the attempt as they continued to clash their weapons together, exchanging yet another set of blows between them.
The battle was picking up its pace now as the two of them pushed each other back and forth, jumping around trying to find the perfect opening. Flipping backwards, Revan quickly holstered his sword as he aimed his right hand upwards, cutting lose some rocky spikes hanging from the ceiling above as he sent them crashing down towards Demise. Swiftly cutting down the incoming rocks, Demise just barely managed to see Revan sneaking up on him in time as he jumped up in the air and fired of an even more intensified thunderstorm Revan's way this time than before. Deeming it impossible to block, Revan rolled over, taking cover behind a large rock, and as soon as Demise halted his attack, Revan then jumped out from cover, landing on the wall to the side, before spinning around in the air as he came charging in Demise's way, trying to cut him down while he was still lingering on his way down to the ground again. Dodging the blow and grabbing a hold onto Revan's arm, Demise swiftly threw him hard to the ground, landing just beside him with his lightsaber, ready to strike. Evading the weapon of death, Revan jumped away to get some distance, and just as he landed on the ground again however, he saw Demise's lightsaber flying his way as he barely managed to dodge under it by sliding along the ground, feeling it scratch by his shoulder and leaving a small cut. That didn't stop him though as he continued pressing forward to get to Demise's position in time now that he had no weapon to defend himself with.
"Now's my chance!!"
Seeing an opening, Revan went for the kill, but to his surprise, Demise's lightsaber came flying back towards him as Menma quickly shouted out to him to dodge just as he was about to get hit. Catching his lightsaber again, Demise prepared his defense just in time as the two of them clashed yet again. Watching as the two went head to head, Menma was still trying to find an opening to help Revan out, but he neither saw his chance nor got the time to react once he finally saw one.
"What do I do, Revan?!"
"Just wait for the perfect opening and seize it when you can!!"
The battle continued going back and forth for several minutes as neither one of them could summon up the strength or the skills to outsmart the other. Taking a short breather, the two of them looked at each other, both refusing to take their eyes of their target.
"I must hand it to you Revan, you surely are a better swordsman than your Master, Marek, ever was. He only lasted a few minutes compared to you..."
"Don't talk about my Master!!"
Charging straight at him as he readied his sword, Revan let his anger get the better of him as Demise quickly went to counter, coming in with his red lightsaber as it clashed hard with the Master Sword. They were now further off into the cave than they had ever been so far and Menma was having a hard time keeping up with their extreme speed and movements. Watching as the two of them now locked in a stalemate, Menma just knew he had to do something sooner or later. He simply couldn't stand idle by much longer. Both Revan and Demise were finally beginning to feel exhausted as they were slowly but steadily reaching their limits. After all, they could only do so much with the Force out here being how weak their connection to it was at this planet. Looking straight into Demise's poisonous red eyes while their weapons were still locked together, it almost felt like he could feel his malefic black-hearted soul from within him. Neither one would falter as they both refused to back down from each other. It was then that Revan realized something...
"Now's your chance, Menma!!"
Signaling Menma to attack him from behind, Revan watched as he reacted instantly, moving in at Demise at a rapid speed. Noticing this, Demise was quick to counter the attack as he broke off from Revan and swung his lightsaber Menma's way, clashing with him for only a few times before sending off an electrified push towards him.
"Menma!!"
Crashing into the wall, Menma fell to the ground as his katana broke in half as he did, living up to the promise of being able to parry only a few strikes from Demise's lightsaber. Just a mere grunt was heard as he fell to the ground with small burnt marks all over his body as a grey dim smoke emerged from him and up towards the air. Coming in at Demise, Revan went straight for the kill, more serious now than ever before as the two of them clashed hard, causing rocks to fly all over each time their weapons clashed. Jumping away from him to gain some distance, Demise was quickly pursued by Revan as he sought to catch him off guard the only way he could. Realizing this, Demise rapidly pointed both his hands at him just as he was about to catch up to him, unleashing a thunderstorm like never before as he did, one so intense that it broke straight through Revan's guard and sent the Master Sword flying through the air, landing well away from his grasp.
About to get hit, Revan saw no other option than to try and counter it by taking the ferocious storm head on with his hands, trying to reflect and push it back Demise's way instead. Thunderbolts crashed into both the walls and the ceiling all around them causing several spikes hanging from the roof to come crashing down to the ground. Despite the danger of getting impaled by the sharp rocks, letting go of this duel with Demise would cause him to get electrocuted in the blink of the eye, as Revan just watched as the highly deadly spikes struck down right beside him. He could feel his hands burning as the stream of lightning went back and forth between them, but now even closer to Revan than he could afford to allow. Losing his concentration just for a mere second, Revan was suddenly flung hard on his back and into the air as he shouted out in pain. Having been able to break through his guard, Demise sent him flying as Revan struggled to get back up again, with the electricity still trying to settle in his body. Buzzing sound and smoke were present as he rolled around in pain, gasping for air. Not even giving him a breather, Demise sought to end the battle as he sent off yet another powerful burst of lightning at him as Revan could only take the pain, not able to do a thing about it.
"You Jedi are so damn worthless, thinking you are so high and noble. The code, for the greater good... You all live a doomed existence, just waiting for your lives to end... This serves you right!!"
Not letting go, Demise continued to electroshock Revan as he got closer and closer to him, only letting him have a breather of five or so seconds in between before continuing with the attack. Just as he got close enough to him, he finally halted his continuous attack as Revan sought to force himself up to his feet to face him, but in vain, he just simply couldn't. Looking over at the Master Sword being stuck into the ground far away from him, Revan reached out his right hand as he tried to pull it towards him with the Force as it slowly jerked itself lose and came flying towards him, but just as it did, Demise struck his lightsaber straight through the palm of his hand, causing him great agony as he did.
"As if I would allow you to do that... If only you would see the world as I do, we would have been able to move passed all this. It seems however, that I'll just have to eradicate you all to achieve my goal..."
Watching as the Master Sword only moved a few meters closer to him, Revan screamed out in pain as Demise retracted the lightsaber from his hand, with a large gap being visible in the middle of it. Pointing his right hand at Revan, a tight grip was felt upon Revan's throat as he was lifted up into the air, gravitating before and barely a meter away from Demise. First a smile, then a laughter. Had Demise really won? Feeling the oxygen slipping away from him, Revan had no way to get out of the grasp as Demise tossed him hard to the ground, into the walls, up to the ceiling and hard down to the ground again, before lifting him high up in the air before him again, tightening his grip even further.
"You will die here Revan, just like your previous Master, Marek, and just like all the Jedi before you. Nothing can stop me now and all that remains is to force that guy to get the portal open. Once that's done, the fate of this galaxy will be the only thing that gets sealed, and that within my very own grasp!"
"I-... Won't-... Let you..."
Barely being able to get some air through the intensified grip, Revan sought out all possibilities he could think of to get out of the dire situation, but whatever he thought of, he couldn't come up with anything that would allow him to turn this around in his favor. He was exhausted, and all he could do was to hope for a miracle as he continued to struggle to breath, trying to break free with his hands. Blood was dripping from his right hand as well due to the wound inflicted upon it by Demise's lightsaber, and he was losing it fast. The beating had taken a toll at him, and he was now feeling weaker and weaker. Was Demise simply too strong?
Over at the other side, Menma was finally starting to regain his senses as he opened up his eyes again. Everything around him seemed blurry as he looked at his own reflection into the purple-gemmed stone that he had collected earlier, which had fallen out of his pocket and landed in front of him once he crashed to the ground. A bright but dim light lit up his reflection as his eyes widened, his strength returned. What could it be? Did he suddenly remember something? Forcing himself up to his feet, Menma picked up the stone as he looked into it one last time. He was shocked to say the least, but why? Putting the gem back into his pocket, Menma then set his focus on Demise. He had to do something and that fast.
"And now... You will die Jedi..."
About to finish Revan off, Demise failed to notice Menma coming in from behind in time, and just as he turned around to see exactly what was flying in at him, it was already too late. A massive ball of pure energy struck him hard as he lost his grip of Revan and went flying through the air! Reaching his hand out, Menma helped Revan, who was still in great pain, up to his feet as he was struggling to stand properly on them, shaking tremendously as he did. He had been seriously injured, and it was clearly visible that he had taken a heavy toll.
"Menma, you..."
"I don't exactly remember what I used to call this technique, but for some reason, it was hard as hell to pull off..."
Breathing heavily, Menma returned his focus on Demise. Shocked seeing what Menma was suddenly capable of, Revan almost had to question whether he remembered who he used to be by now.
"I guess that knock must have knocked some sense back into me. I don't remember it all, but bit by bit the pieces are starting to fall back in place. Ahh yes, chakra doesn't really exist yet, that is why that technique was so hard to pull off I imagine... Somehow, I must have been able to take some with me when I came here despite that fact..."
"What exactly was that, how did you..."
"It used to be my trademark technique, Revan... In a sense, it's my gift from the future... A gift I prepared specifically for you, you damn sinister being!"
Pointing his finger at Demise, Menma had regained all the confidence he ever had as Revan was still struggling to keep his balance due to the share exhaustion of the previous attacks. Blasting away the rocks that now covered him, Demise quickly shot up to his feet again, readying his lightsaber once more as he looked mad as hell for letting Menma land a blow at him.
"So you did have a trick up your sleeve after all... Luckily for you, this pain you just inflicted on me will be nothing compared to what I'll do to you once this battle is over!!"
"Here he comes!!"
"I got this..."
Neither one of them having a weapon to defend themselves with, Menma leaped off to face Demise with yet another ball of massive energy in his hand. Just about to get hit by his lightsaber, he quickly used his speed and maneuvered underneath it as he struck Demise once more, shouting out as he did.
"I call this technique-..."
Unable to withstand the force, Demise crashed hard into the wall as he let out a disturbing grunt. Blood spat out of his mouth as his entire body landed face first to the ground.
"Rasengan!!"
Menma had regained some of his memory, but would it be enough to stop Demise? The conclusion to this tale comes next time!!

Chapter 5;
Jedi vs Sith:
For as long as time remember, there has always been war...
Although different periods of time has brought different eras of peace,
An underlying cause for hatred has always been there lurking in the shadows,
Always present, always abiding its time to spring forth once again to disturb the hard-fought peace...
This tale is that of the forgotten, in a distant place far, far away.
This is how it all began, 7000 years ago...
When a defining change was just about to happen,
A different course, in a different place than what we eventually has come to know as the "Earth."
A change that would make two worlds collide, the starting point for a new beginning...
This is the tale of Jedi Master Revan
And how he came to be known as the Hero of Time,
The first wielder of the Master Sword.
This is how it all began, a long time ago...
In a Galaxy, far, far away.
