Is it wrong to find homosexuality disgusting?

When i was 2 years old we were in US. According to my mother's telling i acted distressed around black people, there aren't many blacks in where i live. Because it was foreign, i was not harming or disrespecting them (i was 2 afterall) but still i am not like that anymore and grew out of that POV.

OP's concern is not that different. Afterall homosexuality is introduced as a controversial concept to this generation nor it is a common human trait. I simply found it wrong until mid teens, when i freed myself from chains of religion. 75% of my life it was simply wrong to me. Now i do support their rights and acknowledge the fact that they can be free as much as us.

We do not have to enjoy everything. I find most people kissing in people unappealing hetero or not and i think i become a part of their privacy. But it is their life so who am i to judge? As far as "being shoved down to throat" goes they can be as public like straight people are. You maybe won't be enjoying a kiss between 400 kilos of 80 years olds but they have right to share affection same as gay people.

Most important thing is acknowleding people's rights outside of your aesthetic and cultural realms. -Not- finding any and everything enjoyable. Things are not meant to be personal fap materials or eye candies in our World all the time. But calling people disgusting comes out to be tad offensive.

I was watching the news one day after they legalized gay marriage in California. My little brother was right next to me, and they actually televised a gay wedding. Two men making out on the news no less.

I was kind of pissed my little 6 year old brother was being exposed to that crap and changed the channel. Nothing against gays, let them get married and whatnot, but don't advertise that shit in front of kids Lol

If you're so inclined to expose children in your household to guys smooching it up, have them sit on the couch watching YouTube videos of that. What you do is your business don't shove it down the throats of all children out there

Yeah, I don't go around telling people I dislike homosexuality in an attempt to stir up a riot.
If I see someone eating something I dislike, I don't walk up to that person and say "That food is disgusting."
If I see an obese person, I don't walk up to him/her and say "Obesity is cancer."
The same applies to homosexuality. If I see a homosexual person, I don't say "I find homosexuality unattracting" in front of his/her face. That's just plain rude. I did do that it in this thread but I only wanted to see people's opinions about it.

Anyway, I think the word "disgusting" is too strong of a word because it makes it look like I'm scared or repulsive of gay people, when in fact, I'm not. The word "unappealing" fits better. Though, I still stand by my statement that I do find homosexuality (the act itself) somewhat gross. However, I do not find it wrong because I appreciate and accept people's love for one another. After all, homosexuality is becoming more widely accepted in society, as evident in the growing-continuing support of same-*** marriage and the legislations of it.

I don't have any friends who are homosexual, as far as I'm concern, but I'm certain I can befriend gay people without any major problems because there is so much more to one's character than sexuality alone, like you said.

Objectively speaking, there's nothing to feel disgusted about; but even so, disgust is a very subjective feeling. I'm homosexual myself, and I'd never blame people for how they feel; that also applies do disgust against my sexual orientation. In the end, it's a feeling; one those people can do as much about as I can about my homosexuality (although that might not even be true for their case). Even though I don't appreciate it, I accept it. What I am blaming are their surroundings; as BlacLord said, disgust is but a condition caused by society while growing up. In a world without any homophobia, feelings of disgust or discomfort would probably hardly arise.

How to express that disgust and what to make of it is an entirely different pair of shoes, though.

Then again, what I've said above sounds so generalized. I do feel very offended by disgust against homosexuality; disgust is such a strong term, full of rejection. Feeling disgust on one hand, but tolerating it on the other hand sounds just wrong to me. It's contradictory. What good is tolerance if only expressed through a 'let live'-attitude, while still feeling resentment? That makes homosexuality an 'accepted evil', tolerated, but still viewed with uncertainty and considered wicked. Dirt under one's shoes one has learned to cope with - exaggeratively spoken. That should not be the goal.

For me, it is no different from heterosexuality. Even if I saw gay people making out I would feel no different from when I saw heterosexuals making out.

Sexuality is something you are born with or which comes to be. It's no decision, so I wonder from what kids need to be protected? If anything kids also need to be taught that homosexuality is a normal thing. So as gay people feel attracted to the same gender, they are automatically disgusting or deserve less rights? OT: I would only feel uncomfortable if a gay guy would flirt with me. Other than that, I like their personality and behaviour in general. Easier to trust, in my experience and more kindhearted overall. I like lesbians a lot. I had 3 lesbian friends and they were good mates. Female, but like a bro to me.

As for people that are set back by LGBT people, that's perfectly fine as long as you keep your negativity to yourself. I personally can't stand to see obese people. Doesn't mean I have to show my disgust. I treat them the way I'd like to be treated, simple as that.
