[Question] Did Rukia or Kenpachi get a bankai in the manga?

Think of Shikai like Naruto's Toad Sage Mode and Bankai is like Naruto's Rikudo Sage Mode.

Well , what I gathered from that is that Shikai is a lot stronger then Bankai. But just to be clear , is Shikai a more powered up form of Bankai? Or are the two unrelated?

shikai is first release, bankai is second. shikai is the weak one that absolutely everyone has.

Re-reading this I see how I got mixed up. I mistook your shikai comparison with toad sage mode and read it with rikudo sage mode instead. That's probably why I thought shikai was stronger. My bad

Oh , well I know everything as far as the anime goes. The manga I have very little knowledge in because I haven't even started yet.

If you seen every thing the anime showed then how do you not know that shikai is weaker than bankai?

I'll say it again , the term 'shikai' was never used in the anime (or at least not in the eng dub) , and I read World's post wrong.

Umm? Yoruichi tells Ichigo about shikai and bankai, and Mayuri tells Uryu about them, too. Both in original anime and in English dub.

lol go back to sleep. I watched the anime and i clearly remember Yoruichi explaining Shikai and bankai to Ichigo during the Soul Society arc.

Yes but in the eng dub it was referred to as the 'released state' of the zanpakuto. I watched the eng dub. 'Shikai' was never mentioned.
