I heard this about The Last

They have the nerve to release it here in the US? I'm disgusted...

I can understand they're trying to make the most money out of it they can, and there are people here who want to see the movie, however the initial release in Japan was a disaster. Right now it's got terrible ratings and way less people than who bought the tickets actually went to the theater for the movie...

I heard all of this from Tumblr. I think the movie has a rating of 2.5 stars, yahoo japan is/was trying to remove the negative reviews despite those being the highest rated reviews, pre-sale frauds (ex. They sold a lot of Sasuke merchandise before the movie release, however he only showed up for like a minute in the movie from what I've heard), and they won't allow ticket refunds like the previous Naruto movies. Otherwise, the general consensus is that it's a pretty sappy and OOC (At least for Naruto) romance movie.

Quoting from my main source from Tumblr, "Ten hours ago, Naruto Uzumaki had already 86 anti threads created for him. Naruto’s new nickname is 最低のくず the worst scumbag." This article's pretty old though, so there's probably other things / more anti threads going on we westerners don't know about.

Anyways, I'll post the link to some more info in a different reply, as * usually has staff check the link and approve it first before letting it be posted.

If you take closer to those "reviews" at japanese yahooo you can see that 90% of them are full of katanaka-hiragana and kanji mistakes, meaning they are written with google translator. Registering with multiple account to japan yahooo is not a big deal, the only condition is to have no life.

NaruSaku fans and SasuKarin fans try theit best to force Kishimoto changing the ending at all cost. Poor souls can't understand that since Kishimoto already became rich after 60-65 volume, 400 anime episodes, 8-9 movies, 10-15 videogames and tons of merches, he not really gives crap to them anymore.

So yes, trolling is stron, and since unlike NS and SK shippingers normal Naruto fans have life they not really care rating the movie up.

It's not that bad, but it is lackluster. The movie really seems disjointed from the manga, despite it taking place after the manga. It is a romance movie with a touch of hyuga back story.

Simple reason The Last got bad reviews: NaruSaku.

Even if you don't care about the romance, it's a good movie.

I guess they have release The Last in Australia and United States because shit like this happened in Japan and I hardly believe they would release it earlier than planned in Australia and US if the shit like this won't happen in there. They just done it for more cash injection. Anyway how retarded someone needs to be to go to a NaruHina movie and expect NaruSaku there. :leaf:

P.S I dunno why but it's seems like in Japan the majority of shippers supports NaruSaku from what I can see in this situation.

Um, they already announced even before the premier of the movie that they will showing it with english subtitle in the USA and Australia. It happened at Road To Ninja too.

I see what you mean, I know about that multi-account thing but I'm sure not everyone does it. There must be some % which are normal visiting users. Tho I didn't knew they announced that before premiere, that being said it doesn't change that it was played in Australia and US AFTER Japanese release.

But Road To Ninja and some other previous movie were played in US and in some other countries after japanese release.

About "not everyone does it", well, don't undersestimate the "power of shippingers".

To be honest, I don't believe neither to the 1-stars nor the "perfect stars (5-stars/10-star), as I believe there is neither perfect nor "1/5-1/10" movie. I'll only see the "between", aka from 2-star to 4-star/9-star, because they are the most objective! Those who are giving either 1/maximum or maximum/maximum are subjective trolls. To me, the movie is a 6.5/10 -> 3.5/5, and my "best" Naruto movie that I rated - Will Of Fire - is 8.5/10 -> 4.1/5, and I believe that I was quite objective, because everything that starts from the middle (5/10, 2.5/5) are worth the watch.

But I recommend you to visit other japanese movie and anime sites like eiga, moviewalkerplus, anikore ect or japancinema ect.

Do you have account on any of them ? I mean I never read the reviews when it's coming to it I rather read the info about the specific upcoming/aired anime or go on youtube to see reviews. There are thousands of good reviews there as well I must say. I didn't watch any Naruto Movie so I can't judge in terms of rating of course. However I'm waiting for The Last like never before =D

If you mean the "power of shippingers" i guess that there wouldn't be so many of them if they have had put some good restrictions on the website. Anyway I will be going as it's getting late.
