I did not say those words personally, it was just a comment on this youtube video I watched and there was a whole argument based on this.

What they said made me questions somethings. Do people really think that? Being unconventional all of a sudden makes you more colourful than others?

I know the struggles of LGBT because of the people I'm close with, and I have family members who are non straight , they deal with the prejudice, stigmas. There are good and bad days.

Personally, I care about peoples well being and will address individuals in the way they're most comfortable, granted that were civil (I'm not exactly gonna stick my neck out if people are mean) . After all they're human like me, they don't deserve any less.

That quote really irked me though, making it sound like that a persons identity is an accessory. A trend.

Arghhh. I don't know it's super late and I'm babbling. I'm just curious as to what people think.

Edit: I know NB is chock full of wolves, gnawing, grinding, full of grrrr. The only person who's awake at home righrght now just replied with "Meh, idc" ... So yeah. I decided to post this here.

People like romanticisizing and alienating things because they half-assedly get it. It happens.

Don't ever let a youtube comment rustle you, the comment section is a cesspool of ignorance.

I know it shouldn't, I don't usually get thrown off easily... but that one just had a particular "Hmmm" to it that it gnawed at me

Lmao, sounds like an annoyingly camp gay person. I've never had one of those dense, overly effeminate types as my friend and I doubt I ever will. They also perpetuate the stereotype that all gays are camp, which vexes me no end and their attitude towards bisexuality is borderline hypocritical.

Of course, I'm not suggesting all effeminate gays are dense/hypocrites but there is a significant portion like that.

It's just a self-affirming way to express that one is different from the majority.
I doubt the intent was to put anyone down - it's more about bringing people up who've likely been looked down upon in more than one situation.

The full quote questioned why there are still straight characters in video games.

Hopefully what you said was the case, however.

well. that sounds just as offending as people discriminating gay people. Instead of accepting everyone as they are - which is what we aim to do - they just close themselves off and decide to pick on the other side. saying "straight people are boring" is like saying all our moms and dads and grandpas and grandmas and ancestors - are boring. which is not true, and everybody has their own character and story to tell. We shouldn't label nor criticize anyone by their gender or gender orientation.

That youtube post does not even deserve any attention. It's just a biased comment. Why bother?

It's annoying and there's tons of people like that on Tumblr. But I do know their reasoning for doing it, for the most part.

It is actually part of human nature. They like to find things which are different or unconventional, that's why we have many people who want to prove themselves unconventional and whatnot.
Also no body is straightforward. Straight people even have their own moments.

Oh, well the context is important. Many people who identify as LGBTQ are fed up with lack of exposure. Someone who is not straight and only ever gets to play a straight protagonist would probably get bored and frustrated by it. Makes sense.

Youtube comments should not be taken seriously. But, you're right in principle.

I've been around various places and there is a stigma within the LGBT if you are straight. I know people who are bisexual or pansexual who happen to be with someone of the opposite *** and get shut off by people who tell them they have no say because they're in a heterosexual relationship. I wouldn't take people who take pride in something as trivial as their sexuality, serious. You're straight, gay, lesbian, bi etc? that's not an achievement.
