Eh. We can all assume it's equal in power. They originated from two of Kaguya's sons. Neither was more powerful than the other, but that doesn't matter. Like I said prior, if either dojutsu was up against each other it depends on the users experience with it. For example, Madara vs Toneri, obviously Madara is going to win because he has more experience with the Dojutsu he has and is more skilled in combat than Toneri.

It's hype. No more, no less, but nothing really states they were different in power.

After watching the movie, it should be even more obvious Tenseigan>Rinnegan without other factors like enhancement. It has the power to constantly move the moon, meaning its gravity control is immense, in addition, there's the moon cutting feat, and Toneri was most likely fighting Rikkudo Naruto, not BSM Naruto, as he did things that should be impossible for anything without Rikkudo chakra. In addition, it has the ability to turn a targets's chakra against them if it hits directly. (this is how Toneri KO'd Naruto at first). It also has the capability to absorb charka even remotely, including the energy of the sun. (yes, Toneri pretty much pulled a Superman)

Rinnegan. You need thousands of Byakugans to get Tenseigan. I don't see Tenseigan as equal to Rinnegan. People like Sasuke and Hagoromo would destroy Toneri and Hamura respectively.

Misconception: thousands Byakugan is need for the 'Tenseigan Altar' a weapon that would destroy earth, while tenseigan doujutsu awake when you mix power from someone from Otsutsuki and Hyuga into a person.

It was never in the Movie it's just some guy posted it on Wiki and then took it down because he realized the information was wrong.
