An object that move at speed of light has zero rest mass like photons

You know that part where Frieza decided to blow up Namek? That part where he told Goku that unlike him he could breath in space and thus if the planet exploded before the battle was over Goku would suffocate in space? Remember that part?

Though, it was never specified if Saiyans could or could not survive the vacuum of space. It is most likely that Frieza meant that Goku would die of hunger in space if he were to survive Namek's explosion.
