which kind of main character do you prefer?

do you prefer the main characters of a series to be goofy, kind of lucky and naive like naruto, goku, luffy and a lot more or do you prefer the main characters of a manga to be cunning, kind of shady like light or so?
imo i prefer the darker characters because the main characters with bright and goofy personalities are kind of generic while the others are like antiheroes instead of heroes

I prefer a main character that's reckless, brave, and funny. Someone like Wu geng/ Ah Gou from feng shen ji.
Although I like characters who are more quite like Darui or Neji from Naruto.

If I have to choose between the two, I prefer the latter kind. their calculating and cunning personalities make them more entertaining in some sense.

tho my fav main character is kind of a mix between the two. he is explosive and hot blooded at times, but also very knowledgeable , intelligent , intuitive and cunning.

I don't really like "badass" characters in the main character role, although I do like it when they're cunning. Blending that optimistic stereotypical shounen protagonist heart of gold with calculated motives would make the ideal protagonist for me.
