It's interesting to note that when Orochimaru showed both Sasuke and Kakashi his killing intent, Sasuke came over it pretty fast. Whilst Kakashi stood there, crapping his adult diapers. He only overcame it when Orochimaru left, whereas Sasuke stabbed himself and rescued Sakura in that really short recovery period Orochimaru provided him.
