The advantage kenjutsu users have however is they possess blade to defend and attack with extended range, and in Bee's case with lightning upgrading the penetrative effect of his attacks, all this making hand-to-hand approach extremely difficult. A taijutsu specialist like Gai won't be able to defend against bladed weapons increased with lightning release.

His means of defense(nunchuks) will be cut like butter. And this is when only talking about a single blade wielder with comparable if not superior skills in close range combat. Not to mention the Acrobat(7 swords stance) whose most dangerous aspect is the unpredictability of movements due to 7 swords tracking down the opponent from multiple angles at short intervals from one another, to the point even an experienced sword wielder like Suigetsu(who could fight on par with Darui with a broker sword or skilled enough to impress even Kisame, who he also apparently fought for a while off-panel, same guy who at 30% chakra was pressuring Base Gai) couldn't read the swords path, and even 2 experienced Sharingan wielders have difficulties to follow. I'm not entirely sure why the base debate is even occurring. Gai isn't even going to try and fight an opponent of Bee's level and abilities in base. Even with Kakashi, Naruto and Bee as assistance, he went straight to the 6th Gate when facing the bijuu.

So apparently, Gai blocking with this little chain like thing against such now compares their strength right? Pathetic.
