I have a Muslim friend who likes guns cuz he used to be in military school he's from Bangladesh and he has a gun licence that he got from the military school and today he told me that our headmaster called him into his office and they had this convo
Headmaster: I've been hearing news going around that u really like guns is this true
Friend: yes
HM: you're Muslim right
Friend: yes
HM: do u know where I'm going with this
Friend: no
HM: well if I see you having anything to do with guns again I'll report you and I think you know who I'll be reporting to (most likely the police) and maybe then you'll know where I'm going with this

My friend got offended by this and says it's racist that he's being indirectly accused of being a terrorist and my other friend thinks the headmaster is just concerned for the hobbies of the students in his school and their safety
What do you guys think
Is it racist or discriminative
Or is the headmaster just concerned

Nope nope nope heres the thing....If the headmaster were only concerned about the hobbies of his/her students he/she would not and should not have asked what the young man's religious beliefs were. As soon as he/she said that they were guilty of stereotyping their "typical Muslim terrorist". Your friend has a right to be upset.

Then it's 50/50.

His religion is neither here nor there and so, he shouldn't have made a thing out of it. On the flip side, guns are illegal here and in a school, the head's concern was half-rightly placed.

Your friend should not be so involved in guns. Though it depends on how he is interested there is a difference between liking something and using it in action. For ex. the people who like chars with guns or the ones with loaded collection.

That been said this should not be a matter of religion. Stereotyping and discrimint due to religion is even more appalling coming from a school principle.

im from england, london, and i have to say i agree with your friend. Your headmaster has no right to stereotype your friend to being a terrorist, most WHITE AMERICAN MEN have a gun licence, so why are they not considered as terrorists or future threats?

if i was you i would support your friend and report your headmaster for racism

You claim he's racist but the Headmaster doesn't care where he's from. It's the fact that he's muslim

Anyway, your friend should talk to his parents about this discrimination.

Someone's religion had nothing to do with that line of questioning.

I can understand the concern of the headmaster as far as it relates to guns, but don't condone the "additional information" he thought was relevant or the not-so-subtle threat that was tacked on to the conversation.
