Yeah somewhat, but still not a heroine. Although if pein/nagato didn't revive everyone it would have been better for her. I sort of feel she was more like a heroine, because she was known for something-greatest medic or something, while also being the only female hokage. As for a character, her development is pretty good, considering how kishi either writes women off with either pregnancy or benched them into irrelevancy. Tsunade had a lover, nephew, background with gambling (lol legendary sucker, didn't this tie into Hashirama?), trauma over the lose of her nephew and lover and then she overcame it, had some good dialogue against madara and during the war, and some other things. TBH tsunade is probably the best female character in naruto in terms of character imo

Oh no doubt, I actually have no problems with Tsunade. Tsunade does what Sakura does but better. If Tsunade's and Sakura's developement was to switch places I would have liked Sakura alot more. She is a great example of a strong female character who deserves to be acknowledged as a strong character.

Edit: Another thing came to my mind just now. Did you notice even Tsunade's love for Dan was more over admiration of his to follow his dreams? What I really like about that is, even though she had two special guys in her life that were special to her. She did not really sit down and give up in the end. She actually followed there dreams for them and became the fifth Hokage of the Leaf. That to me is another thing one could be inspired by her character. To fullfill the dream of the dead. If they can't fullfill it in there life time.

I don't think she is overrated; she is pretty underrated. Strength is not everything that makes a Hokage - it's the mindset. Jiraiya was a traveler who got information for the village while, at the same time, did research for his books. His goals and ambitions did not allow him to stay in the village. Tsunade, on the other hand, had all of the spare time in the world to be a Hokage. She also lost two people close to her who had the same goals. She fulfilled their dreams by becoming one just like Kakashi did with Obito. In the end, it all makes sense how the three Sanin ended up.

For sure, because we know they are equals in power, but there is still controversy about who wins in a Sakura vs Hinata fight. A fight like this would rustle so many people, because if Sakura wins, Hinata fans won't accept that and will say it was the plot who favored Sakura, and if Hinata wins, Sakura fans will say that she won just because she is popular.

I agree, but I will add some corrections.

The Naraka Path is the weakest path. It has no offensive or defensive capabilities. All it can do is revive the dead and interrogate people by ripping out tongues. It's why during the fight with Naruto, the Pein's took a formation with the Naraka path being in the rear. The Ashura path actually has a chance of killing people and probably would've killed Tsunade had it not been for Naruto's rasengan.

Also Jiraiya did have legit reasons for not wanting to be the 5th. He said he wasn't worthy in Part 1 but didn't elaborate. In Part 2 as he's dying he lists his regrets; chief among them failing to protect the 3rd Hokage his sensei and 4th Hokage his student. It would be effed up for him to become the 5th with failures like that on his conscious. Tsunade's not a better choice than Jiraiya, she's just doing the least with her talents. Gambling everyday and drinking every night.


Hilarious that like Sakura; Tsunade is the weakest and least interesting of her teammates.

First off, Kabuto used her fear of blood against her and she was low on chakra when that path attack her.

Tsunade is stronger than Ay who could have KO'd KMC Naruto. Tsunade punches harder than J-man. She below the other Sannin in overall skill.

I actually think many females are better than Sakura in this series. She litterally has no redeeming qualities.
