That two instances left me with a question.

How that gate can hold/restrain something as small as human?

And there exist very large gap on the gate for Madara as example to escape and free himself. Is that Gate active and keep pressing down the victim if they move or Hashirama putting some binding seal?

I never thought that gate got a variations, I just thought all Gate is the same jutsu.

I was thinking this too. It's not that you can't escape in the traditional sense, I think it's the woods chakra absorbing ability that is keeping them from moving. It probably leeches your strength or movement whenever you struggle.

Though as Itachi of the Uchiha clan stated, I think Madara could have escaped it, he was just playing coy until Obito was weak enough for him to enact his "trump card"
